- For daily shopping you can go to the village (approx. 7 km). There is also a small local supermarket 1 km from the house
- Mountain bike route directly from the house
- A Landal holiday park is located on the other side of the recreational lake, you can use the park's facilities such as a playground and Beach Club de Vlegge for a snack and a drink.
- Beautiful nature reserves such as Fayersheide, the Wierdense Veld and Sallandse Heuvelrug offer plenty of opportunity for walking and cycling. A nice cycling route is the Twentse Hooilanden.
- The Engbertsdijksvenen nature reserve is nearby. Part of the area consists of still 'living' raised peat and has a protected status. An El Dorado for bird watchers, nature lovers and hikers in every season.
- Peat Museum in Vriezenveen
- Canoeing through quiet streams, past meadows, farms and cows. You can rent canoes at the Linderbeek in Den Ham.
- Visit places like Ommen, Dalfsen and Gramsbergen . Ommen is an old fortified town and also a Hanseatic city with, among other things, the National Tin Figure Museum and a flour mill.
- Open-air museum Ootmarsum
- Slagharen amusement park in Hardenberg is an experience for children. Hellendoorn adventure park is also nearby.
