Location & area recommendations

Additional information

Landgoed Singraven is beautifully situated along the Dinkel close to the village of Denekamp. There are many special monumental buildings on the estate, including the stately Singraven House, the Coach House behind it and the ancient water mill with three wheels.

Singraven offers a versatile landscape with forests, avenues, fields, meadows, marshes, and the ever-present Dinkel. The estate therefore has a surprising amount to offer: fascinating cultural history, relaxing and interesting nature, active recreational opportunities such as cycling or walking tours and much more.

Landgoed Singraven is easy to reach by following the signs 'Singraven' from Denekamp. There is parking at the watermill.
The Lutterzand nature reserve is located at the foot of the ice age moraine. The area is 600 hectares in size and consists of heaths, sand drifts, juniper thickets and beautiful forests with Scots pine, birch and oak.

The river De Dinkel flows right through the nature reserve. Over the centuries, this river has meanwhile "eaten" itself in the sand. The steep banks are now nesting places for the sand martin. The kingfisher and the large yellow wagtail are also common in the Lutterzand.
The Dinkel is one of the few primeval rivers in the Netherlands. The river moves meandering up to half a meter a year, and in winter the water level is so high that many meadows are flooded.

The Lutterzand offers excellent opportunities for walking and cycling. In September and October the river can be navigated by canoe.
Central to the nature reserve is the Groene Staart (Greun'n Stet), a beautiful 180° bend in the Dinkel where the banks are up to 7 meters high.
In 2007 the Lutterzand was declared a Geological monument. A geological monument is an area that derives its status from its geological significance.
Cozy streets and narrow alleys, authentic half-timbered houses and lots of nice shops and art galleries. The town is known for its many artists, galleries and museums. Many artists live, work and exhibit in Ootmarsum. There is something to do here all year round.

Let yourself be carried away by fascinating stories about historical events from the rich past, but certainly also from contemporary (modern) art. Ootmarsum offers a range of galleries, studios and museums with beautiful paintings, contemporary glass art and artists who love to tell about their creative work with heart and soul. Experience the art as it was meant to be. Get to know the artists who live, work and exhibit here. Let your heart beat faster and discover the real passion of art in Ootmarsum-Dinkelland.
