Inside is a soapstone wood stove, a new pellet stove; in the garden there is a wood burning stove. The house is now also equipped with heating through infrared panels. The quiet location, yet close to nice cities such as Schagen and Alkmaar, makes it a unique place. The unique island of Texel is also nearby, as is the capital Amsterdam. Towns such as Hoorn, Enkhuizen and Medemblik on the IJsselmeer are worth a visit.
