Whether you seek focus, family fun, relaxation, or entertainment, our cottage offers the space you desire. A lovely garden with soft grass for little feet, lazy loungers, and ample outdoor seating. A private little studio, a pergola for cozy outdoor hours, or a hideaway for reading, meditation or just hanging out. Access to a big, heated pool surrounded by lazy chairs and a terrace where you can sip your drink or have your evening dinner.
(NB If the Pool is an important aspect in your decision making, please inquire if the pool is open. Lately some legal arrangements were imposed, to ensure even more safety at the pool. Finding the people to make this happen has been a problem for a while. We do not want any disappointments for you upon arriving at the location. We apologize for any inconvenience).
You can make your reservations (for free) for the tennis court adjacent to the pool. Two table-tennis tables are available as well as a basketball court and a playground for the little ones. Trails and attractions in a cute town close by. Weekly cleaning available. Ideal for your perfect getaway! Waking up and throwing open the French doors to sense the freshness of the morning energy and hear the birds chirping is always a delight. You take your morning coffee to the garden and enjoy the sun rays playing in the branches of the big oak trees and the beautiful singing of the various birds.
What will you do next? Take a walk through the many little lanes in the Parc or venture out in the surrounding rural areas. Or do you decide to take a bicycle, so you don't have to walk back when you lose your way? Two simple bicycles are available at the Vogelshouse. Or do you bring your electric bike. Rest assured you can safely put it away behind closed doors at night. But maybe you want to rent an electric bike at the Office of Parc de Kievit (costs: E27.50 per day) and follow one of the many bicycle tour maps that are available in the area. Are you or your kids thrilled by the capriciousness of the borderline between Belgium and the Netherlands in the area? You can sit and have dinner in Restaurant De Engel and one side of the table is supposedly in one country and your guests are sitting in another. Some of the shops are Belgian and others are Dutch.
It is easy to visit some of the most beautiful European cities from this advantage point: Antwerp, Brussels, Breda or even Liege, a city that was inhabited already in prehistoric times. Baarle-Nassau is a two-hour drive to Amsterdam, and a little more than one hour to Utrecht. Small little towns galore surround the ancient smuggler town of Baarle-Nassau, and each one is so Dutch, in both buildings and surroundings. And let's not forget the food... pancakes, Belgian Waflfes, and the famous French fries. So yummy.
