The Kingfisher

A holiday spot for people who love silence and nature. The bungalow is located on a spacious forest plot (1350m) with lots of privacy and various seating areas. From the cottage you can enjoy a wide view over the meadow. In the evening there are beautiful sunsets to admire. Many birds and squirrels can be seen around the house. The cottage has a bright living space with a corner sofa, TV and patio doors leading out to the terrace. On colder days, you can use the wood-burning stove for extra warmth and the cozy atmosphere. There is a modern open kitchen with all necessary appliances and a full kitchen fit. There are three bedrooms with good mattresses and there are two bathrooms, ideal for two couples, for example. One bedroom and one bathroom are equipped for a disabled person (walker or folding wheelchair). A women's and a men's bicycle with 7 gears are at your disposal.

From the cottage you can walk directly into the nature reserve Het Korenburgerveen, with its fens, peat and forests or you can cycle directly through the beautiful bocage landscape with its traditional farms. The recreational lake Het Hilgelo and nearby flowing streams are about 15 minutes by bike. Guided walks with a forest ranger or guide can be booked regularly through the VVV or Natuurmonumenten. The village of Winterswijk is 3 km away and offers many nice shops, a lively goods market (Wed/Sat), restaurants, a theater and an open-air theater. There are also various cultural trips, such as the Museum Villa Mondriaan, The Museumfabriek, the romantic garden Rosenhaege and an old quarry.  In the vicinity, the beautiful towns of Groenlo, Lichtenvoorde, Aalten and the book city of Bredevoort are worth a visit. In the wider surroundings of the Achterhoek you will find numerous walking, cycling and mountain biking routes. A little further away are Ruurlo Castle and Museum MORE, Zutphen and Deventer, among others.
