Bungalow Karavanserai — peace, nature and space
If you step outside in the morning, you walk straight into the forest. Within walking distance is the Korenburgerveen: a vast Natura 2000 high moor reserve with walking routes of approximately 5 km and regular excursions accompanied by a forester. This is the area in which bungalow Karavanserai is located: detached on 1,200 m² of private forest land, surrounded by rhododendrons, with an enclosed garden that offers space for sun and shade. From the living room you can see a wide variety of birds and also regularly squirrels. And at night it is really pitch dark here.
The bungalow (72 m²) combines a retro character with modern comfort. The bathroom and central heating system have recently been renewed; Good insulation ensures a pleasant stay in any season. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a filter coffee maker and Senseo. The three bedrooms — two with a double bed (Auping) and one with a single bed — offer space for five people. For guests who want to explore the area by e-bike: electric bicycles can be parked and charged in the lockable shed.
The environment does the rest. Winterswijk has 225 km of walking and cycling paths and 1,400 km of junction routes. Do you dare to look further? The German border is 3 km away, and a little further you can spot flamingos in the Zwillbrocker Venn. Winterswijk itself is cozy with the weekly Saturday market, striking architecture, a wide range of shops, terraces and restaurants, and for culture lovers including Villa Mondriaan. The open-air swimming pool Strandbad in 30s style and recreational lake 't Hilgerlo are a short distance away.
Peace, space and nature — without having to drive far.
