Holiday house

We would like to welcome you to our holiday home at country estate Bos en Enk. Our refuge in the Achterhoek. A house that feels like a home. Wake up to the smell of fresh homemade bread. Breakfast in the morning on the intimate patio near the kitchen. Drink your coffee on the spacious terrace on the ground floor or, if it's a bit chilly, on the sofa in the living room. A place where you have a beautiful view of the garden where the squirrels hide their supply or come to pick it up. And where there is a coming and going of many songbirds; bullfinches, flycatchers, nuthatches etc.

Through the entrance on the ground floor you first enter the living room. In addition, there is a small 3rdbedroom and a utility room with washing machine on this floor. The large kitchen is located in the basement. The kitchen is fully equipped. You can enjoy cooking here. On the 1stfloor there are two bedrooms; 1 with a single bed and work area and a room with a double bed. On the top floor (2nd) there are no less than two bathrooms. One with shower and toilet and one with shower and bath. In addition to the central heating, there are two gas fireplaces (living room and kitchen). At the parking lot you will find a shed with two bicycles that you can use. The garden is 1200m2 in size. Both terraces are equipped with a folding-arm awning. Furthermore, in summer it is good to relax in the hammock or at the table under the walnut tree on the large lawn.

The area invites you to take beautiful walks, such as on the Boelekeerlspad, and bike rides. You can also have a good time here with an MTB. The trail starts directly behind the cottage park. There are also many nature reserves in the area, such as 't Zand, Slangenburg and the Kruisberg near Doetinchem. A little further away you will find the vast forests of 's Heerenberg or if you go the other way, into the hills, to the area around the Lochemse Berg.  There is also plenty to do in terms of culture. In Ruurlo you will find the museum MORE for magical realism in the castle, in Doesburg you can visit museum Lalique (in addition to enjoying a cup of mustard soup, of course) and in Zutphen you will find museum Henriette Polak.We regularly visit our house in the Achterhoek and therefore also make sure that the house stays clean. Furthermore, we are still researching the area and like to discover new trips. We have children of our own, so we have certainly been looking for fun outings for them. Here are a few of our tips;
  • The climbing forest and the Zevensprong cycle route near Ruurlo
  • At Laag Keppel you can rent a motorboat in a small harbor to sail down the Oude IJssel. Wonderful cooling on hot days
  • Supping on the Oude IJssel or a boat trip with the Ijsselganger is also possible
  • A walk with a donkey or an Alpaca! At Zelhem or Almen.
  • Canoeing on the Berkel near Borculo or take a trip with the Berkelzomp
  • Wild snapping at Winterwijk (with buggies)
  • Organic farm Ruimzicht, just a short walk.
  • In addition, there are plenty of playgrounds, outdoor swimming pools, recreational lakes and a small zoo nearby.
In the cottage we have walking and cycling maps of the area and plenty of other tourist tips. Feel free to ask us for further information!

You can do your shopping in Zelhem where you can go to 3 supermarkets. There are also a few nice boutiques and nice terraces here. There is a market on Friday afternoon.

All the ingredients for a carefree and relaxing holiday in the beautiful hinterland of the Netherlands.

Hi, we are Ruben and Neoletta. In search of peace, nature and space, we fell in love with this house, the lovely large garden and the surroundings three years ago. Here we can indulge our passion in cooking and gardening. We love to get out and about so we have already seen quite a bit of the area but there is still plenty to discover.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

If the tenant wishes to cancel the booking for whatever reason, the tenant must always confirm this to the landlord by e-mail (even if this has already been passed on to the landlord by telephone, for example). The landlord will charge the following amounts: depending on the date of written cancellation by the renter:
  • cancellation more than 3 months before the start of the rental period: free of charge
  • cancellation between the 90th and the 60th day before the start of the rental period: 25% of the rental price
  • cancellation between the 59th and 30th day before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
  • cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price
If the tenant only announces on the commencement date or during the rental period that he will not use the rented property (anymore), he will still owe the full rental price.

You can visit beautiful castles in the area. You can also do the 8 castles route by bike. Then you come. past Castle Vorden, De Wierse and the Wildenborch. At Vorden Castle you can also enjoy a delicious lunch in Bosloods 1873. Highly recommended.
You can make beautiful boat trips in the Achterhoek. Like with the Iesselganger over the Oude IJssel. You can also visit beautiful castles / country houses that are otherwise not open to the public. You moor at DRU Industrial Park in Ulft. Fun events are often organized here, so be sure to check the agenda. There is also a lovely terrace at the old canteen of the factory (Dru pans).

Other options are: With the Berkelzomp across the river Berkel. Especially beautiful at sunset. Or a trip through the waterways of Zutphen. And would you rather be behind the wheel yourself and seek refuge on a hot day? Then book a boat at the Bommen Berend marina in Laag-Keppel.
