You can find out how we came to have this bungalow built at "let me introduce you" a little further on this site!!! We really enjoyed the whole process. It was very exciting how this would develop because I can assure you, it is not easy to design your own house from scratch and have it built by a contractor. Above all, the ground, especially the surface, was a disappointment and almost led to a breaking point.

Additional information

How it all started...We were on summer holiday in Spain in 1996. We read in the Telegraaf that a project developer in Ermelo offered plots on which you could have a holiday bungalow built. So completely according to your own design. That has always been our dream. Immediately after the holidays we went to Ermelo and gathered information there. We were very attracted to it and after weighing everything up, we decided to work with the project developer. There was still a beautifully situated plot of 700 m2 for sale. We eventually bought this lot. In November 1996 we had completed the design of the holiday bungalow. It is quite a challenge to design and build your own holiday bungalow, but it is also very fun and exciting to do. The construction itself took until April 1998 due to the winter period. Then of course came the furnishings and dressing. We had the garden landscaped by a good gardener, with the main message being to create a woodland garden with a fireplace and 3 terraces that fits in well with the surroundings. It ultimately took until 2015 to have it completely ready and to our liking. We and our loved ones are thoroughly enjoying our EVEN AWAY HOUSE!!!
Kind regards from Anne, Jane, Mike and Fred.

Dear family Truijens,
Thanks for the hospitality and the wonderful week in your house! Totally top: outside food, nice surroundings (Sixflags, forest pool wells and of course the dolphinarium in the neighborhood) and to finish the day still nice evening here with a drink in the garden in the grape arbor. We are totally in love again ... We will definitely come back!
Regards, Richard and Jane den Boer.

Fred and Anne,
You have a really nice house and a fantastic garden, it was just a pity the weather, but as dry as it was our daughter again flew through the garden. We have equally tasty Tuesday evening by the fire sat down with champagne and strawberries, delicious! Thanks for everything and maybe goodbye.
Greetings Jeroen, Rebbecca and Eva de Graaf
