Are you looking for a spacious and luxurious accommodation in a farmhouse from 1848, in a place where you can still hear the silence? Then Grandpa's House might be something for you. The old farmer (grandpa) used to live here, but after he went to the nursing home, we thoroughly refurbished and modernized the house. It is now a wonderfully bright holiday home for 2 people with living room and bedroom, shower and toilet on the ground floor. The house is fully equipped and offers you plenty of privacy. The interior is a mix of old (such as the crockery) and new (such as the box-spring beds). You will feel right at home! Rental min. 4 nights.

Grandpa's Cottage has a large living room with smart TV and HiFi set with a.o. Bluetooth and USB connection, so you can always enjoy your own music. The open kitchen has a combination microwave, coffee maker for filter coffee, Nespresso or Senseo and dishwasher. You also have a south-facing terrace and a private entrance.

Grandpa's Cottage is an independent half of the front house with its own entrance and is located on a picturesque country road with unobstructed views over the countryside. Numerous nice places, such as Giethoorn, Meppel, Ruinen and Dwingeloo are just a stone's throw away. The Dwingelderveld National Park is also nearby.

In 2004 we, Karin and Jeroen, changed course and moved from the Randstad to Ruinerwold (Drenthe) to convert an old (1848) farm into a small-scale luxury B&B; The Glory Ruinerwold. The renovation of the B&B took 2 1/2 years and after that we renovated Grandpa's Huisje into a holiday home and did the garden.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

Grandpa's Cottage is a small-scale accommodation. It is therefore extra annoying for us if you cancel. However, it can always happen that serious circumstances force you to cancel. We apply the following rules:

If cancelled up to 14 days before the reservation date, half of the deposit will be refunded.
If you cancel between 14 and 7 days before arrival, you will be refunded 20% of the deposit.
If you cancel within one week before arrival, you will owe the entire deposit.

Grandpa's House is a luxurious, spacious and bright holiday home for 2-4 people. Located on a picturesque country road, with views over the meadows where summer the cows graze. The cottage is part of our farm in 1848, but is completely independent. Formerly the old farmer who lived there we called Grandpa. After Grandpa went to the nursing home, we have the house thoroughly renovated and modernized. It is now a lovely house with all modern comforts, where you will feel at home. Due to privacy is the perfect holiday home for a cozy getaway with your partner, friends and / or familie.Opa's House has a large living room with TV / DVD and HiFi set including iPod dock and USB connection, so you always enjoy your own music. The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher and Senseo. There are two romantic bedrooms (one with flat screen TV) and two bathrooms (one with jacuzzi!). They also have a south facing terrace and a private entrance.

Setting Your accommodation is a great base for hiking or cycling. The farm is located on the quiet Dr. Larijweg with its many beautiful Saxon farms and pear trees to 1000. This road is part of the cycle The Glory Geldings, guiding you through the bocage of South West Drenthe performs. Also within cycling distance extended nature and characteristic green villages, such Geldings, Dwingeloo and Diever. In the charming town of Meppel, you can also enjoy shopping or eating out. Even gardeners can enjoy. In the vicinity are several open gardens to visit and of course you as our guests access to the tea garden behind our farm prices: Based on a residence with two personen.Bij 3 or four people is a one time fee of € 100, = per booking.
