Holiday home the N8UIL is an attractive, detached and comfortable holiday home for up to 4 people, located in the beautiful Drenthe landscape, adjacent to the Terhorsterzand nature reserve and just a stone's throw from Dwingelderveld National Park. Here you will find peace, space, nature and character in one place — ideal for really slowing down and enjoying.
A house built with love
We, Hein and Nicole, designed this house ourselves from the first drawing and built it together. Every detail — from light to furnishings — has been worked out with great attention and love. The N8UIL is not only a nice holiday home for our guests, but also a place that we cherish ourselves.
Layout & comfort
The N8UIL is suitable for four people and completely smoke and pet free. You will find:
- Two bedrooms with comfortable box-spring beds.
- A spacious and bright living room with cozy gas fireplace, sliding doors to the terrace and Smart TV incl. Netflix.
- A complete open kitchen with a combination microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer, Senseo and hob.
- A luxurious bathroom with rain shower, bath, sink and plenty of cupboard space.
- Practical amenities include washing machine, dryer, storage space with high chair, camping cot and games for shared fun.
The interior is modern, fresh and attractively decorated, with lots of daylight and attention to comfort. You immediately feel welcome and at home here.
Enjoy the outdoors – garden, sauna and terrace
Around the house is a spacious garden with a south-west facing terrace — perfect for enjoying the sun, a good book or a glass of wine. There is a comfortable lounge sofa, picnic table and an electric barbecue for cosy evenings together.
The absolute outdoor highlight is the wood-fired Finnish barrel sauna in the garden — ideal for relaxing under the stars after a long walk or bike ride.
Discover the nature around the N8UIL
The location of the N8UIL is a dream for nature lovers:
- Directly on the Terhorsterzand nature reserve with heathland, fens, sand drifts and juniper berries; Perfect to start a walk right away on foot.
- Dwingelderveld National Park is literally around the corner — one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands, where you can spend hours cycling and walking through forests, heaths and on rustic paths.
In August and September, the heather turns a beautiful purple — a special spectacle that you won't soon forget.
Explore, experience and relax
From the N8UIL there are countless possibilities:
- Cycling and walking through unspoiled nature.
- Villages such as Dwingeloo, Diever and Beilen are close by and offer nice terraces, cafes and shops.
- Visit cultural and historical sites such as the former camp Westerbork or enjoy local sheepfolds and resting points.
- For sporty trips, there are routes for mountain biking, horseback riding or you can opt for a relaxing day in the area.

Whether you're coming for a long weekend out, a midweek with the family, or a week away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life — the N8UIL offers a warm welcome, calming atmosphere, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy all that Drenthe has to offer.
Good to know: In 2025 (and possibly also 2026), a new holiday home will be built fairly close by. Some noise nuisance may occur here during the day.
