You will find our “Boshuis De Dollenburcht” at the small-scale Park Dassenburcht in Spier. It is a gas-free Finnish recreational bungalow, in the middle of nature, the construction of which was completed in 2021. Our Forest House is for everyone who enjoys nature and comfort. The house has a spacious veranda, where you can enjoy a drink in the (summer) evenings. The Boshuis itself 'breathes' the atmosphere of the outside, with appropriate art and bedrooms that were baptized the “Fox Den”, “Owl's Nest” and the “Crow's Nest” (sleeping loft). In the Owl Nest, an electric box spring (180x200) guarantees a good night's sleep, and the beds in the other sleeping areas are also adjustable. The living room is attractively but modernly furnished, including a pellet stove, modern television, soundbar, relaxing armchair and SMEG refrigerator. The Boshuis has everything for a comfortable stay, and if you get tired of the forest, you can enjoy the sun on the spacious terrace almost all day long. The garden is fenced and bath and kitchen linen are included in the price.

Nature and environment

The biggest attraction in the area is nature. From the veranda you step straight into the Terhorsterzand nature reserve, which in turn has an open connection with the Dwingelderveld National Park. The Dwingelderveld was recently voted the “quietest place in the Netherlands”. You will find heather, fens, juniper and elderflower, from which we 'brew' our own syrup for our guests - while supplies last. You can wander around the Dwingelderveld for hours, on foot or by bike, and otherwise the Drents Friese Woud and the Holtingerveld are also within easy reach. While the Terhorsterzand is known for its badgers and tawny owls, the wolf has even been spotted in the Dwingelderveld. For those who have had enough of nature, the green villages and dolmens in the area are a sight to behold, and Meppel in particular is good for shopping.
