The farmhouse is located in the center of the characteristic Drenthe village of Diever, so you will find many facilities within walking distance. Get fresh bread rolls from the bakery in the morning, and have a nice terrace in the village in the evening. Of course, Diever not only has several restaurants, café, shops and supermarket, but also the famous Shakespeare open-air theater where a Shakespeare play is performed every year.
The village is beautifully situated between Drenthe, Friesland and Overijssel. This offers all the possibilities for a varied holiday. Of course you will visit the famous Giethoorn and when the weather is nice, the Weerribben are ideal for a day of canoeing or renting a boat.
On the Drenthe side, about 10 km away, is the Dwingelderveld National Park (the largest wet heathland in Western Europe with 60 km of hiking trails and 40 km of cycle paths), with the characteristic Drenthe heaths.
In the direction of Friesland, lies the Drents-Friese would national park (one of the largest national parks in the Netherlands with its 32 marked hiking trails and many cycle paths). Both offer plenty of walking-equestrian and cycling paths.
Going into town? Assen and Zwolle are easily accessible. Emmen (with its beautiful zoo), shopping city Groningen (Martini Tower, courtyards, comic strip museum) and the German border are also less than 1 hour's drive from Diever.
Drenthe, with 18 large and smaller amusement parks, is of course also a perfect destination for the children! For the whole family, there are more than 25 museums (with a wide variety of specialties!)
Very well-kept complete holiday home, where everything has been thought of in the interior (and if not, we are happy to help you!)
