Villa

Casa Felisole

Our independent villa with private pool can sleep 6 to 8 people. The villa is very spacious 140 M2 and has a beautiful view over the lake. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 with a 2-bed and in a pair, there are 2 single beds. In the dining area there is a sofa bed. We also have a folding cot and a high chair in the house, where you can use.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking enthusiasts. We have plenty of utensils so you can cook just like you're used to at home. There is also a dishwasher, so that your holiday is a real holiday. If you want to wash clothes then there is also a washing machine at your disposal.

Around the pool and on the terraces there are plenty of chairs, tables and sun beds for relaxation. Or how about a BBQ at the pool side.

Lake Trasimeno is the ideal place to visit all the attractions in Tuscany and Umbria. If you want to see where Hannibal fought the Romans, where the Etruscans lived and lived, to visit the beautiful cities of Florence, Siena, Perugia and Assisi, it is recommended this place.

Although there are tourists, it is not as busy as the more famous French / Spanish beach resorts. That makes this region so attractive for us. You can go swimming, surfing and sailing but there is no mass tourism and you'll find everything you need.

Eating out is still pleasant in this region, a pizza margarita costs about 5 euros and the local wines are fine to drink. There is daily called a local market where you can buy fresh vegetables and. Or, as the Italians nice summer dress for Weining money but slightly different than in our own country. I even found my hairdresser because the Italians are masters when it comes to fashion and appearance :-). During the summer months organize most villages own festivals, such Tuoro they play after the battle between Hannibal and the Romans, Passignano is always the end of July Il Palio delle Barche, a remarkable spectacle in which local strong men walk the streets with heavy boats on their necks. San Feliciano is the end of July celebrated a week long party and you can bring food with the locals and enjoy the fish they catch themselves in the lake. There are always two bands and the people will teach you how to line dance has begun. The son of our gardener is the organizer of this festival, and so we got to know a lot of people.

If you fancy a day in Rome you can take the train to Chiusi and then you will be in two hours at Termini station in central Rome.

If you are a wine lover then there are to visit some wineries and if you bring your own bottles you can get filled them for very little money € 1.50 / liter.

For the more energetic there is plenty to do among us, how about a tour around the lake cycling, jogging in the hills around the lake, a mountain bike tour? And yellow Vespas are rented near San Feliciano and if you thus driving it's like you've become an Italian by the villages. Monte del Lago is on a lake boat rental Aquadolce.

If you are interested in Italian clothing then there is 40 km an outlet. Since we who we always discovered during the sales of summer complement our dress with just those other clothes available here.

If you like riding, we can recommend an address of a real Italian cowboy you with a beautiful horses with western saddles through the hills and along accompanies the lake. And what could be nicer than to gallop among the olive trees?

There is so much to do and to see that we already do not get enough.

Therefore, we have in our home a book put all the addresses / routes / sites / restaurants / tips so you can choose what you do most.

We invite you to a dolce far niente 'experience in our Casa Felisole, welcome ...

About 16 years ago I fell in love with the area of ??Lake Trasimeno. I can vividly remember how I arrived the first in this region and how I felt like coming 'home'. I think that many people will recognize such an experience. From that moment we have tried to save as much money to be able to buy our Italian dream. After so many years we succeeded and that happiness I would like to share with you. Enjoy the Italian culture and charm, welcome !

Additional information

Against the wall of the dining area at Casa Felisole hangs an overview of Lago Trasimeno. So you can easily find the places that we describe below. There are also lists a number of activities you can do around the lake. Charter If you love boating you can in the harbor of San Feliciano at 'Nautica' rent motor boats. The cost is approximately € 100 per day. Castiglione del Lago The name says it all, this was once a castle, a large castle. The old village is located entirely within the wall thereof. The actual castle now serves as a hospital and another part is home to the town hall. Furthermore, there are large halls, where the cultural and community life occur. The name "Duca della Corgna" is very well known here and there is even a room dedicated to him. This room is decorated with all kinds of frescoes and paintings, Sala della Corgna. Sometimes the room open to the public, it is very worthwhile. There is a lower and an upper village. In the village plays down the beach life now. You can sunbathe and go into the lake. There are also a number of restaurants. Last year there was the possibility to rent bikes to ride around the lake. In the upper village one can stroll through narrow streets. There are several nice shops offering local delicacies and also sell all kinds of stuff. There are good restaurants and pizzerias. One of our favorite restaurants is La Cantina. Here there is a garden, but often you have to book in advance as it always busy. From Castiglione leaves the ferry to islands and other towns. The market is every Wednesday morning, one of our favorites, as he so cozy meanders through the town. The piazza is it linger if you still find a place. There are several supermarkets as you drive toward the south side of the lake. Islands 'Tre Isole' Isola Maggiore is the most important and it's only island, inhabited. One can visit the chapel and a rock where Francis prayed after he Trasimeno had crossed safely after a storm. There is a museum, documentation center and churches that you can visit. Also there is a beach, so badspullen it. You can the island in about 30 minutes going around. In 'Da Sauro' lunch you can relax in the garden. Isola Polvese is the largest island and the nearest from Casa Felisole. There are interesting to visit historical monuments such as the Monastery of San Secondo, the Church of San Giuliano, a recently restored castle from the 14th century. Isola Minore is not accessible to the public is given the privately owned. It is uninhabited and is the municipality of Passignano. The times and prices for the boat trips on the directory in the directory. Art lovers around the lake in various places there are to find paintings by Perugino, the teacher of Raffaello. You will include paintings by him in Citta della Pieve, Panicale and obviously Perugia. All three towns are worth visiting. Monte del Lago, which lies close to San Feliciano. The core of this village consists only of a long staircase, which loses itself in some streets with gates, flanked by old houses. One can park the car in the parking lot for this port. Panicale This village is definitely worth visiting. The name comes from the ancient Greek god Pan ": Pani-Calet sacred honor to Pan. There is to admire a variety of artwork in all findable and impressing churches inside and outside the walls. There are frescoes and paintings from the period XIV to XVI of Perugino, Masolini, Cristoforo da Cortona, Raffaelo. The village is built within the castle walls and a medieval spirit out. One can reach the village by two old gates of the 14th century, La Porta Perugina and La Porta Firenze. On the square inside the walls you will find a fountain from the distant past. This served to in times of need and to provide siege the castle of water. Just walking through the village is an experience in itself. You will find paved with cobblestones famous narrow streets. The streets are flanked by old houses made from the famous ancient stones, which are sometimes linked together by a footbridge on the first floor. The old defense tower 'Antico Torione' is well preserved. In 1216 Pope Innocenzo III made his appearance here hoping to find some peace for the war. It was a warm reception in part by the people and government of the church. Even Pope Bonifacio VIII and Alesandro II have here several times sought refuge and found. As an expression of appreciation donated one of the Popes the right to Panicale to hold a market. Mercenary General of the Medici, Boldrino, also had his residence. A walled stone in one of the old houses substantiates this fact. With the cooperation of these Boldrino has been previously authorized to import Griffin as a weapon. From the village you have a wonderful view over the lake and its islands. As you have already understood this village is rich in art treasures. However, they are not so easy to find, hidden as they are unsightly churches ed. And visit the church "Chiesa di San Michele Arcangelo" in the square, because there you will find various frescoes and paintings, some of Raffaello, Perugino and his school are attributed. Passignano sul Trasimeno This village has the air of a town. It lies mostly along the water and there is a pleasant boulevard with cafes and restaurants. Even the little ones can have fun here. There go boat connections to the islands and on the other side lying places. The higher core is very surprising compared to the boulevard. If you go up the stairs you quickly find yourself in a medieval town. A row of old houses with a view of the lake and ended with a thick irregular wall located in a small street. Once a year there is a big festival in Passignano called the "Palio delle Barche. In 1495 occupied a small army of Siena, supported by political refugees, the castle in Passignano. However, the reaction of residents was very violent and aided by troops from Perugia she chased the Germans on the run. The occupiers wanted fled to the islands and lifted the boats on their shoulders to row out to the islands. They did not succeed. In memory of this one takes three days matches. The first and third day there are games on the lake, the second day the boats on the shoulders are made in the village. Another game, which at the same party, hear is the "Corsa delle Brocche. Hereby only do women, and there is a parade in costume. Passignano is also 'our' Gelateria Tropical, we visit at least once during our holiday, just to try different flavors. There are some good restaurants and some supermarkets. A restaurant where we were never disappointed, is "I Vecchi Tempi. This is slightly outside the village towards Magione on the left side of the road. There is ample parking. San Feliciano Our village is also situated on the lake and was originally a fishing village. Therefore, there is a harbor and there are a number resataurantjes along the lake. San Feliciano has a number of narrow steep streets with a number of cave dwellings. These are unfortunately not visited since some are still inhabited. There is a fishing museum that you can visit. Here you can learn about the traditions of the fish, the fish in the lake and the history of the lake itself. The museum is closed on Mondays and on other days open from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 15:00 to 18:00. From the harbor departs the ferry to Isola Polvese and Passignano. Tennis at the holiday park 'Le Tre Isole' are 2 tennis courts, you can make use of this when booking. They ask € 7 per hour. Tuoro This is a small village with about 1500 inhabitants. Tuoro is famous because it has been a battlefield during the 2nd Punic War around 217 AD. You can find a documentation center about the battle of the Roman army led by Console Flaminio against the Carthaginian army led by Hannibal. There is also compiled a route over the course of the battle, you can follow on foot, bicycle or car. Moreover, there are remains of a mass grave of the dead were found. On the other side of the highway is a beach with real sand, you can rent chairs here and there are a number of bars. Again, leave the boat to Isola Maggiore. Moreover, there is an open air museum '' Campo del Sole 'where 28 modern stone artworks are exhibited. These are performed by contemporary Italian and foreign artists. For 217 there was at this place a great Etruscan city, which was destroyed by the troops of Hannibal. The Etruscans were a people with an exceptional high civilization. When the Etruscans was the woman equal to man. They were also masters in the manufacture of jewelry. It is written that they have taught the Romans how to build a sewer in Rome. They were the first to boast and gewelgen could lay bricks? By the manufacture of bronze objects, there are still pieces of land which are so poisoned, that there is no crop wants to grow on. Tuoro enthroned high above the castle Montegualandro. Flaminio in 217 camped here with his cavalry. In 1200 does the first distinguished himself as a castle. Frederico II "Roman king" visited on one of his field trips through Italy. Now the castle is one day a week open to visitors. Tuoro has a traditional piazza, where you can drink a good cappuccino and a good plate of spaghetti can eat. Vespa rent You can also rent a vespa to explore the area. The Vespa is brought home when you call the number on the flyer. The leaflet also includes the rents. Walking and cycling Above the house is a nice walking area that often goes through olive groves. If you a sign: strada privata encounter, you can usually just walk through. About 15 min walk is a restaurant with a beautiful view 'Montalcino', here you can have lunch fun. There are also bike rides put out. There are detailed maps of the area in the red folder under the T Trasimeno, where you also can create your own route. You can also rent bikes to ride around the lake. There are 8 bus stops and you can leave your bike at each of the 8 places again leave. You will then be brought back by van to your departure. See folder in the folder. Lots of fun and if you discover something cool then let us know. We hope you become just as charmed by this beautiful region like us.
There is so much to discover here and visit, It is best to take a guide and let you lead. Actually we find anything like it, but here are some highlights that you should definitely do. Firenze or Florence This city does not need any additional recommendations, if you look at all the books you can find plenty of reasons to spend a day. Naturally, you can drive to, but we find the train quite easy. The train departs from Terontola, a town about 30 km from here towards Cortona. The journey time is around 1 hour dep. of the fact whether it is a local train or intercity. Arezzo: The movie "La vita e bella" by Roberto Begnini is included here and in the cafe for the church to admire pictures of some scenes. Assisi: Very famous are of course the upper and lower church they are worth a visit. In the summer it can be very warm. Cortona: A wonderful place on top of a hill. It can get very busy summer here, but it is also great. Again, a wonderful gelateria 'Snoopy'. Here there is a nice little shop in the front of the village (left) where they buy all kinds of dishes and bowls etc decorated with fruit, fish, etc. After years of comparative research, we believe that they have here the greatest choice for the best price. Orvieto: As described in most books is the façade of the church simply magnificent. If you want to make a long journey from then drive through Orvieto direction Pitigliano, a great little town. Along the way you can visit Etruscan tombs. Perugia: An international student town that is built on a hill so there are escalators that lead to the center. You can also eat at one of the many restaurants. Every Saturday there is a market which is the largest in the area and you will find everything from chickens to clothing and kitchen items. San Gimignano: About a 30 min drive from Siena, but here you can find the best Gelateria in the world. On the square with the well, you can find him. They make for years world champion ice. Every year we can not resist this. Siena: About 1 hour away, but the famous piazza is worth. The famous Il Palio takes place on 2 July and 16 August. Volterra: This town is also further away, but well worth a visit especially now that the city is mentioned in the films of 'Twilight'. Around here there is mined alabaster and there are some companies that sell directly to consumers. So we can still write down his leaves, but the best recommendation is: pull out and be surprised. Pisa and Lucca These cities can be visited in a day, but then it will be a long day. Lucca itself we find the best of the two. Though we have eaten here by chance the world's worst pizza. Pisa city is not so nice but the tower is very famous. Rome: If you fancy a day in Rome, then that certainly do. From Chiusi there is a train and the ride takes about 1.5 hours. Chiusi is about 35 km from here. Intercity go from Terontola.
Shops in San Feliciano (2 km) Drive back down to the lake and then turn left. There are the following stores: • Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical • Bakery: Usually, the bread here without salt. After about 2 km there is a Hurra (discount) on the left side of the road. On the right there is a small shopping center (Pesciarelli) containing a large Conad. There is also a fresh fish department. There is an ATM. Outlets (at exit A1 - 40 km) There are a lot of famous brands and always worth a visit especially on a rainy day (fortunately not often). You can park your car in the parking lot with olive trees, walk inside the town and it is the first house on the right. Affiorato San Feliciano If you enter the town you see sitting on the left side of the road. This oil is more expensive, but of very good quality. Wine Castiglione (Cantina del Trasimeno): If you are driving to Castiglione through the bottom of the lake, the cantina is on your left. Here the wine Ducca della Corgna is sold. You can taste it. Montepulciano: The village is fun to watch. There are many opportunities to taste and buy. You can also right next wine tasting herbs and dried mushrooms buy. Fattoria Pulcino has a beautiful cellar with yet even an Etruscan tomb. Montalcino: The village is not so nice, but they produce and sell here Brunello. Magione: In the castle of the Knights Malthezer they also sell delicious wine. In addition, the courtyard is a picture. Magione: Packages Trasimeno, the house wine of the restaurant Giramondo is sold at Cantina Pucciarella. Take the autostrada towards Perugia, exit Mantignana, then towards Villa Antria and about 3 km further on the left is the cantina. The owner told us that there is always a feast is held on July 26, where a priest instructs Mass and afterwards wine is being paid to any person who is there. Also here you can buy wine per liter if you bring your own bottle. Vases and pots If looking for beautiful handmade pots and vases (moreover hardy) then you can buy them at the producer: Cotto Vadi in Ronzano. The pots they make here are made from the Umbrian clay and therefore have the typical color. This small family company sells alongside to trade directly to the consumer. The owners are very friendly and make you hesitate to show their workshop. It is about 40 km from here towards Cortona. Turn left when you get to the next exit. (After the Ipercoop) Follow Ronzano and Foiana, the road leads you into the backcountry. Follow Ronzano, once you go up the ramp is the company on your left. Earthenware pottery which is widely sold in stores is made in Deruta. Take the motorway towards Perugia. Select the freeway towards Todi / Terni south. Take the exit Deruta and along the way there are many shops. Here's the pottery cheapest. Terre Trasimeno This is a store of local producers who sell directly to consumers their products this way. There is wine here, olive oil, truffles, herbs but also to buy ceramics and other issues. It is close to Castiglione del Lago. Compulsory closing of shops Tuscany (Terontola, Camucia, Cortona): Wednesday Umbria (Tuoro, Passignano, Castiglione del Lago): Thursday In the summer months the shops are open on all days.
