Casa Elide
Our house: Casa Elide is located in the middle of the green hills of the Sabina, a beautiful region just north of Rome.
We have had the old farmhouse renovated, with authentic materials from the region, into a nice and spacious holiday home. The house is a great place to relax by the pool and enjoy the beautiful view. Or to go to the village in the morning for a delicious cappuccino on the terrace of the village café and to get fresh bread.
From the house you can be in the middle of bustling Rome within an hour. Rent a bicycle and explore the city in this special way with its many historical sights, nice terraces and beautiful shops. Or you choose to spend a day visiting beautiful Orvieto with its striped Cathedral.
If you like an adventure, go for an evening river walking at the Marmore waterfalls! A super cool experience!
And if you are tired from all those sights, you can ask chef Andrea to prepare a delicious meal for you at home.
Interior:
On the ground floor you will find an attractive living room, comfortably furnished with a sofa, various easy chairs and a spacious dining area. There is also a large fireplace. Adjacent to the living room is the spacious kitchen, which is fully equipped. Here too, a fireplace, dining table, oven, 5-burner gas stove, dishwasher, Jura coffee machine, refrigerator with a freezer compartment, microwave and a large amount of crockery, pans and cutlery. Furthermore, on the ground floor there is a tastefully decorated hall with a bedroom for 2 people (with a double bed).
There is also a bathroom with sink, shower, bidet and toilet and a washing machine.
In the hall on the ground floor there is also a large door, which leads to a real cave.
On the first floor you will find 3 spacious, attractive bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a double box spring and small balcony.
Bedroom 2 is a cozy room and has a double bed with separate mattresses.
Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds and a terrace at the front.
There is also a bathroom on the first floor with a walk-in shower, sink, toilet and bidet, plus a separate toilet and sink. The main house has 4 bedrooms and is suitable for 8-10 people.
Studio:
The studio is a detached two-person house (approx. 50 m 2 ) next to the main house. There is a bedroom with a double bed. The living room with kitchenette also has a double sofa bed. The studio has a lovely spacious bathroom. In the basement of the studio there is a second bathroom with shower, sink and toilet (for the swimming pool).
The studio is not rented separately.
Additional amenities:
In 2022 we had air conditioning installed in the bedrooms. WiFi in and around the house, washing machine, stereo, hairdryer, table tennis table, 2 BBQ's, 3 mountain bikes, beatbelly, basket, hammocks, various cozy outdoor seating areas and various sunbeds. There is also a large table on the large terrace behind the house where you can enjoy your meals outside. There are extra mattresses and trundle beds available. The entire house has central heating (additional charge of €100 per week during the period October-April)
Garden:
Around the house is a beautifully maintained large garden of approximately 7000 m2 full of fruit trees and flowers, with another 4.5 hectares surrounding it. olive grove and forest. Freedom and tranquility!
Directly at the house you will find a large terrace, part of which is covered. The garden has a beautiful view over the green Sabine hills. You have complete freedom at the lovely swimming pool, which is in the sun all day long. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols here to relax. From the garden you can walk straight into nature for a beautiful adventurous walk along the path along the river to nearby historic Tarano. If you are a bit more sporty, you can explore the area on one of the mountain bikes.
Extra service:
Sylvia our Dutch speaking hostess will receive you upon arrival at Casa Elide. She will show you the house and the garden. Because she has lived in the area for a long time, she can tell you all about it. If you don't want to leave but still want to be spoiled with culinary delights for an evening, our home chef Daniele can prepare a delicious dinner with regional products at home for you! Or discover all the secrets of olive oil!
Environment:
There are countless options for a day trip in the area. Whether you want to visit a historic town, the Marmore waterfalls, or just take a nice walk, it is all possible ... from Rome to Rafting!
