Casa Elide
In the middle of the green hills of the Sabina, a beautiful region just north of Rome, lies our house: Casa Elide.
We have had the old farmhouse refurbished, with authentic materials from the region, into a nice and spacious holiday home. The house is a great place to relax lazily by the pool and enjoy the beautiful view. Or to go to the village in the morning for a delicious cappuccino on the terrace of the village café and to get a fresh loaf of bread.
From the house you can also be in the middle of bustling Rome within an hour, rent a bike and explore the city with its many historical sights, nice terraces, and beautiful shops in this special way. Or you can choose to spend a day visiting beautiful Orvieto with its striped Dom.
If you like an adventure, go river-walking at the Marmore waterfalls for an evening! A super cool experience!
And if you're tired of all the sightseeing, you can ask chef Michela to prepare a delicious meal for you at home.
Interior:
On the ground floor you will find an attractive living room with a sofa, various lazy chairs and a spacious dining area. There is also a large fireplace. Adjacent to the living room is the spacious kitchen, which is fully equipped. Here too a fireplace, dining table, oven, 5 burner gas stove, dishwasher, Jura coffee machine, fridge with a freezer compartment, microwave and a large amount of crockery, pans and cutlery. Furthermore, on the ground floor there is a tastefully decorated hall with a bedroom for 2 people (with double bed).
There is also a bathroom with sink, shower, bidet and toilet and a washing machine.
In the hall on the ground floor is also a large door, which leads to a real cave.
On the first floor you will find 3 spacious, attractive bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a double box spring and small balcony.
Bedroom 2 is a cozy room and has a double bed with separate mattresses.
Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds and a terrace at the front.
There is also a bathroom with walk-in shower, sink, toilet and bidet on the first floor plus a separate toilet and sink. The main house has 4 bedrooms and can accommodate 8-10 people.
Studio:
The studio is a detached double house (approx. 50 m) next to the main house. There is a bedroom with a double bed. In the living room with kitchenette there is also a double sofa bed. The studio has a spacious bathroom. In the basement of the studio there is a second bathroom with shower, sink and toilet (for the swimming pool).
There is an additional cost for the studio and is only rented in combination with the main house.
Extra facilities:
In 2022 we had air conditioners installed in the upstairs bedrooms and in the studio. WiFi in and around the house, washing machine, stereo, hair dryer, table tennis table, 2 BBQs, 3 mountain bikes, beatbelly, basket, hammocks, various cozy outdoor seating areas and various sunbeds. There is also a large table on the large terrace behind the house where you can eat outside. Extra mattresses and trundle beds are provided. The whole house has central heating (surcharge of € 100 per week in the period October-April)
Garden:
Around the house is a beautifully maintained large garden about 7000 m full of fruit trees and flowers surrounded by another 4.5 ha. olive grove and forest. Freedom and tranquility!
Directly next to the house you will find a large terrace, part of which is covered. The garden has a beautiful view over the green Sabine hills. You are completely free at the lovely swimming pool which is in the sun all day. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas here to relax. From the garden you can walk straight into nature for a beautiful adventurous walk along the path along the river to nearby historic Tarano. If you are a bit more sporty, you can explore the area on one of the mountain bikes.
Extra service:
We or Sylvia, our Dutch speaking hostess, will receive you upon arrival at Casa Elide. We will show you the house and the garden. If you don't want to leave but still want to be pampered with culinary delights for an evening, our 'chef at home' Michela can prepare a delicious dinner with products from the region for you at home!
Surroundings:
In the area there are countless opportunities to do something for a day. Whether you want to visit a historic town, the waterfalls of Marmore, or just want to take a nice walk, it is all possible, in short, from Rome to Rafting! Or discover all the secrets of olive oil!
