Porto Letizia Villa Orchidea 4

Since 2008 we have been the proud owners of an apartment in the north of Italy. We come there regularly, but also rent out the apartment. We have decorated it in a modern way. The art photos on the walls are tailored to the interior.

Our apartment is located in the beautifully landscaped Porto Letizia park in Porlezza, directly on Lake Lugano. The villa is directly adjacent to a beautiful (play) park located between the villas and the lake. We have an unobstructed view. The apartment (approx. 50m2) is fully equipped and suitable for 4 adults, but a cot can also easily be added. There is a separate kitchen with dining area for 5 people and a separate bedroom with two beds. The luxurious sofa bed in the living room can be converted into a spacious double bed in no time.

In addition to the perfect location, the apartment has a large sunny terrace of approx. 20 m2. From the living room and the adjoining bedroom a total of four double doors give access to the terrace. The view is beautiful of the park and the lake. There is a modern terrace set and of course a large parasol. The terrace faces south/west. The terrace is a wonderful place, from breakfast to dinner, to a quiet evening drink. On the street side, the apartment also has a shaded balcony as an extra.

Porto Letizia's main building, the Palazzo, is within walking distance. The central reception is located in the hall of the Palazzo. You report there on arrival. You can pick up the key at the reception and of course always go for questions, tips for trips and bookings for renting a boat, bicycles or riding lessons. Tenants can use washing machines and dryers in a separate building. The friendly ladies at the reception will also be happy to tell you about the (free) use of the bicycles and the discount options for the restaurant, or renting a boat and various excursions etc. 

In the Palazzo there are also several shops, a hairdresser, a fine restaurant/pizzeria and Bar Panama with a terrace on Lake Lugano. Panama is open all day, you can also have breakfast and lunch there. It is the nicest bar in Porlezza. The locals like to come there and that gives a nice mix between the guests of Porto Letizia and the inhabitants of Porlezza.

There is also a public park, a labyrinth and a children's playground on site. The sandy beach is only 100 meters away and has a real Italian Lido with a terrace, sunbeds and umbrellas. Renting (water) boats or a boat is also possible. In the summer months, a band plays weekly on Thursday evenings. Within walking distance of the park is a tennis court with a cozy bar.

The nature around Porlezza is beautiful. You can enjoy fantastic walking and cycling. Porlezza itself is a pleasant village, with a promenade, shops and several restaurants. Porlezza is located about 80 kilometers from Milan. With the Alps in the back and the lake on the doorstep, it is wonderful to stay in an Italian atmosphere. The fashionable city of Lugano is 15 kilometers away and the cozy Menaggio on Lake Como is also 15 kilometers away. The historic city of Como is about 45 km away. The nature around Porlezza is beautiful and very suitable for hiking and cycling.
