Fun facts about Corfu

• The James Bond film ‘For your eyes only’ was partly shot in Corfu.
• The Greek name for Corfu is Kerkyra or Korkyra. According to the myth, this was the name of a beautiful nymph, the daughter of Asopus. It is also the name of a Greek river.
• Every July, Kerkyra town is the setting for the Corfu Festival, a music festival with musicians from all over the world.
• The Greek word for ‘yes’ is: ‘ne’. This can lead to confusion!
• Corfu’s highest peak is the Pantokrator (911 m). From the top, you can even see Albania.
