Fun facts about Hessen
- Dillenburg Castle was the birthplace of William of Orange in 1533. He is known in the Netherlands as the Father of the Nation.
- Hessen was the most important source of inspiration for the fairy tales written by the Grimm Brothers.
- At almost 800 metres, the Vogelsberg is one of the highest skiing areas in Hessen.
