Our house

The house is located in a small hamlet and is close to the lively village of Ouroux en Morvan. The former country barn has been converted into a house with two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and lounge. In addition, the house has a sunny garden with two terraces and a nice green lawn. 

The house is located along well-known hiking trails. In the hamlet there is still an active farm and the cows walk around in the meadow. 

The house is semi-detached with a garden to the front, side and back. There is parking space for two cars at the front. In the secluded garden at the back is a large terrace of 30 m2 with a pergola with grape vines that give delicious grapes in September, October. In the intimate secluded part of the garden on the side of the house is a cozy seating area. The garden and terrace have several seating areas, so you can choose shade or sun.

The house is a stable with barn converted into a house in the traditional architectural style of Burgundy with 70 cm thick outer walls of stacked stones and a roof of slate. The electric heating in all rooms and the bathroom and the wood-burning stove in the kitchen-living room provide a cosy warmth. The living area consists of the kitchen and an attractive lounge with a loft and striking fireplace. In the central hall is the bathroom with shower and sink and a separate toilet. There are 3 spacious bedrooms on the first floor. We keep one bedroom private. The house is decorated with care and attractively. It has a cozy brocante-like interior and is fully equipped. There is Wifi and Canal Digital ensures that you can watch all Dutch TV channels.

The kitchen is fully and comfortably furnished with all conceivable appliances and more than enough crockery, pans and cutlery. The washing machine is in the storage room.

Your dog is very welcome. The garden is enclosed and well-organized. In the barn you will find 2 barbecues, garden chairs, a sunbed and the parasol.


The local facilities

In Ouroux you can do your daily shopping at the bakery and a small supermarket. There is also a pharmacy, doctor, post office, hairdresser, Tourist Office and a small market with regional products on Sunday mornings. There are 2 café-restaurants and a hotel-restaurant. There is also a cave where you can buy delicious wine, regionally brewed beer and foie gras. There are 2 ATMs.

Hello we are Sujatha and Max. We are married and have three children. We were lucky that we were able to take over the beautiful cozy house from Sujatha's parents. They bought this house twenty years ago and completely transformed it from a barn into a house! We came here with the family regularly. And have been able to experience a lot of beautiful adventures together here. We like to be able to share the house with others.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

The landlord will charge the following amounts, depending on the date of written cancellation by the tenant:

In case of cancellation up to 90 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: free of charge

In case of cancellation from 90 days (inclusive) to 42 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 30% of the rental price

In case of cancellation from 42 days (inclusive) to 28 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price

In case of cancellation from 28 days (inclusive) to 14 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 75% of the rental price

In case of cancellation from 14 days (inclusive) before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price

If the tenant only announces on the day of the start of the rental period or during the rental period that he will not make any use of the leased property, the tenant will continue to owe the full rent.

Other information

Burgundy is a beautiful region, where you won't get bored. There are many cultural attractions. Castles, old churches, chapels and monasteries are scattered all over Burgundy. Autun, 60 km away, is a more than 2000 year old Roman city with a beautiful cathedral. The city offers many shops, small restaurants and impressive architecture. Other beautiful cities are Avallon, the wine city of Beaune, the porcelain city of Nevers.
There are two Lacs nearby, where you can take a dip.
Lac de Pannacere is 5 to 10 minutes by car from the house. For Lac de Setton you have to take into account 20 to 30 minutes by car.
