We, Yvon Frank, have had a more than 200-year-old farmhouse since the year 2000, which has been renovated in the original "French style" and is beautifully and attractively furnished. COMPLETELY FENCED SINCE SPRING 2022. The spacious living room (6x7 m.) has an authentic beamed ceiling and a wood stove. There is a (sleeping) sofa and some cozy 'seats' by the wood stove. A radio/cd/cassette/pl/dvd player and a TV (no channel reception, but a chromecast connected, with which you can stream TV with your mobile phone), many different genres of DVDs, well-stocked bookcase and board games for all ages. A few steps down is the kitchen with gas hob and electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee filter machine and Nespresso machine, bread maker, dishwasher and hot water boiler. There are 2 bedrooms, one room with a double bed with 2x90/200 cm mattresses, the other 1 bed 90x190cm and a queen size bed 130x190cm. There are duvets and pillows, but you have to provide your own linen and kitchen linen.
In the adjacent barn is the garden furniture, barbeque and a table tennis table and a shuffleboard. Our house is located on a plot of 2000 m2 with grass, trees and shrubs. The garden has recently (spring 2022) been completely fenced, so that unwanted dogs can no longer enter our property and guests can safely keep their dog with them on our property. The farm has a length of 25 meters and a depth of 7 meters. Next to the living area is the original stable (barn) and hay barn.
There are a number of 'natural' terraces, where you can always find a place in the sun or shade.
Our farm is part of a small hamlet (hameau) and the surrounding area consists of hills, farmlands and lots of forest. Our managers live just a few hundred meters from our farm, so they can be seen in case of any farm. questions are always easy to consult.
4 km away is Ouroux-en Morvan, a nice cozy village with supermarket, bakery and restaurants.
There is also a Dutch-speaking garage owner in Ouroux. A general practitioner has a rotating presence. Of course, there is also a tourist office (post office), where you can go with your questions. In our house there are also brochures about activities, walking routes, etc.
For larger groceries you can go to Chateau Chinon with large supermarkets.
Poirot Dessus is located in the heart of the Morvan, a protected nature reserve with many forests, hills, farmlands and lakes. The area is ideal for walks and bike rides.
