Lac de Settons is a reservoir in the middle of the Morvan and was created in 1861 to allow the transport of wood by river to Paris. Now it attracts many tourists in the summer when the weather is good and there are plenty of opportunities for all kinds of water sports. In winter, the lake is an oasis of peace.
La Coupe Lyonnet is a small hamlet and is about 3 km away. distance from Lac de Settons. The hamlet consists of about 10 houses, including "Ventres Bleus".
The farm is about 150 years old.
It consists of living area, barn, stable. Everything is in fairly original condition, but where the granary used to be is now the bedrooms.
"Ventres Bleus" is old, is rural and is located in the middle of nature.
"Ventres Bleus" is for people who are a bit self-reliant, not afraid of a spider or nightly rustling behind the ceiling. Especially in conservatory and barn, nature often comes in.
As a climbing/creeping plant, but also as a small rodent. Above, behind the ceiling, you can sometimes hear the scurrying of an animal that is building up its winter supply there; Squirrels, I think.
On the ground floor are the living room with conservatory and the kitchen. Cooking is done on gas or electric. In the barn is a simple bathroom with toilet, bidet, sink and shower.
Half of the upper floor consists of open attic, the rest of 2 bedrooms and a small bathroom. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. An electric boiler provides hot water.
Depending on the desired privacy, it can easily sleep 6 to 8 people. Duvets, pillows and blankets are provided. Bring your own pillowcases and sheets. For heating you have to rely on 2 wood stoves and the tiled floor in the kitchen has underfloor heating. Wood is present, but there is no escaping some chopping and sawing.
The kitchen has a refrigerator and 4-burner stove. Cooking is done on a butane gas cylinder and possibly electrically. The oven is electric. And there is a microwave. An electric boiler provides hot water in the kitchen and bathroom.
Small supermarkets can be found in Moux, Montsauche and Planchez; all about 8-10 km away. And in these places you can also go for a fresh bread from 7:00 am.
There are large supermarkets in Saulieu, Autun or Chateau Chinon (all +/- 25 km). For fresh bread you can go to Moux, Montsauche or Planchez from 7 am.
There is also a washing machine. In the shed there are 5 mountain bikes and there is an inflatable boat that can be used if any leaks are fixed. A sailboat is available; But you have to put it in the water yourself and for that you need a tow bar. Use it after consultation. There is also a table tennis table in the barn. In the house there are several maps of the area and there is a lot of information for the tourist. There are no big cities in the Morvan, but just outside the park there are cities that are definitely worth a visit: Autun, Avallon, Vezeley.
