Het Atelier

The Atelier is a former carpenter's workshop on the edge of a charming village where many artists live. For the last ten years it has been used by my husband as a painting studio and has recently been tastefully and carefully converted into a gite for art and nature-loving holidaymakers and artists who want to work quietly for a while. The building is located on a dead-end road between the fields and there are no neighbors. The garden is bordered by hedges but not fenced.

The spectacular loft-like living space of 150 square meters offers every opportunity to relax, work, play, cook and read. The Atelier is in principle for four people. The two bedrooms are cool in summer and warm in winter. Both have views of the orchard and fields. For the winter there is an excellently working Dovre wood stove (wood included) that heats the room well. In the ante-chambre and in the large living room there are two comfortable trundle beds, which can be used for an additional charge. The studio is equipped with every comfort, furnished with a mixture of antique and design furniture, books and works of art. Bed linen etc. is included. Well behaved four-legged friends (max 2) very welcome!!!!

Ah la Nièvre! I have been living there for more than twenty years now and I am still in love with this region. It is the 'douce France' of yesteryear; farmer's wives in blue aprons, young foxes playing on the roadside, dark forests with mushrooms, endless views of rolling fields and lovely hills. And water everywhere; lakes, canals, rivers that you have to yourself. Beautiful villages surrounded by vineyards, hidden castles, towns where time has stood still. Yes, it is as if you experience time differently here, as if you live in a deeper, more real world and can finally come to yourself.

Dear summer visitors (+ children + dogs) and new interested parties of our beloved Atelier! With pain in our hearts we have decided to sell our little paradise and have therefore stopped renting for the time being from the end of June 2024. Thank you for all the trust and enthusiasm of recent years; it was a great pleasure to have contact with you.
