For some guests this is a magical spot with a view over the vineyards and our small river, which is the boundary. Lovely unobstructed view over the vineyards and mountains next to us.
Our mountain, on which we watch from the terrace, from the bedrooms and conservatory ...... and from the pool! Beautiful scenery in May, when the gorse flowers, what a great combination with the wild orchids next house. Then the nature at its best.

Many flowering plants give coziness. Garden filled with many subtropical plants.
Vases d'Anduze filled with flowers around the pool. Often thanks to our green-fingered guests and our irrigation system beautiful all season long.
You can keep in touch with the swimmers from the large dining table on the terrace.

There is a very large terrace on the south, the terrace is a natural way into the garden. The garden behind the pool, a pergola, including the good life in the summer. The garden is very obviously designed to accommodate the transition to the wild to run smoothly. In the garden there are many Mediterranean plants, agaves Wed, oleanders, a fig tree, grapes, oregano, lavender and Buxus much. In nature, next come home for wild Orchids.

All herbs are used to their hearts content. Elektriche hob 3 gas burners and 1 are shown. There is a large oven and a microwave in the kitchen. Of course there is a toaster, Senseo and a large coffee maker, deep fryer, a mixer, a bread maker, kettle and a blender with a lot of accessories.

Large wooden dining table outside. This place is in summer the center of everything. Here, breakfast, coffee and wine drinking, eating, etc. The parasol and Albizia (beautiful tree) give the necessary shade. Sometimes we too the wine tastings and floral workshops.

The river (the Orb) flows in front of the house, on which you can canoe a little further in Rocquebrun. The dogs can enjoy swimming here and the children can build dams.
In September the Yuccas bloom in the garden.

For house you can fish in the Orb. But first take a permit from the municipality collect. Very rich fish the river here. You can also swim in the river this summer and many children build dams or go with an inflatable boat down the river.

Pierradore in perspective
Terrace around the pool with plenty of space for sunbathing or relaxing under a parasol. Before and after swimming in the heated pool you can rinse under the outdoor shower with hot water.

At the back of Pierradore we have placed a 3-person bench on the northwest with a wine barrel as a table. A wonderfully quiet and cool place for warm afternoons.

Back villa on the north. On hot days or when the sun is high in the sky, this terrace is outside the most cool place of Pierradore, you have uninterrupted views of the hinterland and the Montagne Noir.

When the weather is clear above the Pyrenees, the mountains are very beautiful visible from the kitchen and garden of Pierradore.
Valras-Plage is the closest beach on the Mediterranean. It is a cozy place with restaurants, cafes, shops and many possibilities for water sports. Making trips or renting a boat yourself, it is all possible. At 40 minutes from Assignan.

Pierradore at night. Swim or relax under the stars. The balmy summer evenings in this quiet area are unforgettable. Due to the little light pollution, the stars are very visible, and every now and then a nightingale makes itself heard.

Opposite the church, in front of the roundabout, there is a bread vending machine that, except on Wednesdays, is filled daily with delicious fresh bread and croissants.

Top Thai restaurant La Table is only 150 m away from Pierradore. Assignan also has a Bistro and a Brasserie serving home-brewed beer, all within walking distance of the villa.
Many pleasant markets can be found in the surroundings of Assignan. On Thursday and Sunday in Saint Chinian, 8 minutes by car, a nice fresh- and goods market for groceries and souvenirs.
As far as food and drinks are concerned, local products from the season in question are offered on the markets, whether organic or from the producer. Very fresh and of super quality.

Viewpoint during walk around Assignan.
During many well-marked walks, you have many views. For a walk through the Pyrenees you must first brave a car ride of 1.5 hours.
When you walk through the streets of Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert or have a drink on the picturesque town square, you imagine yourself in a distant past. A fantastic experience.
Nimes and Narbonne, beautiful cities with many Roman accents are more than worth a day visit. Narbonne at 35 minutes by car and Nimes at 2 hours.
