The house is built in a piece of forest of 5000 m2. Behind the house is an extensive terrace around the pool with a sturdy awning attached to the house. The pool has a new roof so that in the summer the pool can easily reach 28° without additional heating and in the early and late season it is still pleasant to swim thanks to the heat pump. In 2025, the swimming pool will not start until 15 May.

Due to misbehavior of tenants with 4 dogs in 2023, NO dogs will be allowed from now on!
Smokers are also no longer welcome from now on because tenants who do not smoke like to find fresh rooms when they enter.

Electric cars can be charged at the garage's socket, but we do not have a fast charging station. When signing the concrat, you must state whether you are coming with an electric car and pay an extra 75 euros per week with the deposit. If the car has been charged little and has therefore used less electricity, the remaining amount will be gladly refunded.

We are a Belgian 60+ couple (man with early retirement, woman still working at the Ministry of Labor until May 1, 2024 with 2 adult children and 4 precious grandchildren.
We fell in love with the Dordogne 30 years ago because of its good food, caves, castles and of course the river for our summer canoe trips.
We stay in Belgium if we have to because our wife has not yet retired, but we spend about 3 months a year in the Périgord Noir!

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

July :
In recent years the Dordogne has been very busy from the end of July to the last week of
August because the French take their leave then and more and more
foreign tourists apparently go on holiday.
Tourist attractions such as Sarlat, Domme, La Roque Gageac and
Rocamadour will then be saturated and very difficult to reach!
We therefore recommend the much quieter month of June as well as the first 2 weeks of July if you are not tied down
are in the peak season and school holidays. The weather is also much quieter and often pleasant in September.

Canoeing on the Dordogne is a favorite outing with the family in the summer period.

Between Carsac and St. Cyprien you can visit many castles along the Dordogne.

Within a radius of 50 km around our holiday home you can visit countless prehistoric caves such as those of Lascaux, Les Eyzies, Cougnac, Lacave, Rocamadour and Padirac.
