Abbey

9.7

On the border of the Dordogne is a lovingly restored 16th century Abbey with beautiful unobstructed views.
This house has everything to completely unwind and relax. It is not unimportant that the house is in a part of France with the cleanest air! No toxic apple orchards in the area and the village of Ayen is in the top 3 of the country's most sustainable villages.

The cozy kitchen is equipped to cook extensively, but is especially nice and cool in the summer.
In the tower of the Abbey is a generous authentic romantic master bedroom with king-size bed, bathtub, balcony and fireplace. Separate bathroom with shower and 2nd toilet.
Above that a large bedroom with a double bed and two single beds.

At the top of a room for a prince or princess with a single bed.

In the house there is also a guest apartment with an additional bedroom, bathroom and 2nd kitchen.

No shortage of space!

The beds are all made with cool sheets and anti-allergy duvets.

Of course an outside terrace with hot tub and BBQ. In the garden (3500 m2) is the heated saltwater private swimming pool.

It is a large attractive house with every comfort. Cool in the often warm summers and pleasantly warm in the winter. If you like, cleaning is free in the meantime

To walk
Several long and short walking routes run directly from the house. Beautiful vistas very diverse, but especially calm and calm.

Large and small children
There is plenty of entertainment in the area for both large and small children. The little ones can play in the safe garden and at the swimming pool it is especially for the teenagers to chill in the hammocks.

Watching stars from the hot tub

Make especially the hot tub so that in the evening you can watch the stars in a wonderfully warm bath. There is enough wood to burn the fires well!

Water fun
Beautiful canoe trips can be made in the area or water skiing on a nearby lake.
Want to take a leisurely ball at the various golf courses in the area? We have a golf set with air balls to play in the garden.

For groceries there is a friendly local supermarket (with fresh baguette from 3 different bakers) within walking distance. The owners Celine and Sebastian are always very friendly and helpful.

Village festivals
In July and August the festive Thursdays are in our village with music, BBQ with local products. Here you can experience a great evening for the whole family that will make you happy. Not enough partying yet, on Fridays such a village festival is 7 minutes away in the beautiful historic village of Saint Robert

With the special Abbey App we help explore the area with great tips and beautiful places.

We are Sara and Ilco Schuringa and have lived in France for years. There is no stress or pressure here, just the friendly nature of the French countryside that is good for everyone's health. The Abbey is a lovely holiday home that we gladly make available for you to enjoy. We also live in a house on the property. Our village Ayen - Bas has received several prizes as the most sustainable village in France. Something we are very proud of and also happy to contribute to.
