Abbey

On the border of the Dordogne there is a lovingly restored 16th century Abbey with beautiful unobstructed views.
This family home has everything to completely unwind and relax. It is not unimportant that the house is located in a part of France with the cleanest air! No poisonous apple orchards nearby and the village of Ayen is in the top 3 of the most sustainable villages in the country.
The house is for 6 people, but it can also be booked for 2 additional people. There is a 4th bedroom with a double bed.

The house has recently been connected to solar energy. (The panels are not in view)

The cozy kitchen-diner is equipped for extensive cooking, but is also wonderfully cool in the summer.
In the tower of the Abbey there is a spacious authentic master bedroom with a double bed (2x1 person mattress), bath and balcony. Separate bathroom with shower cabin and 2nd toilet.
Above that a large bedroom with a double bed or can be converted into a 2 x 1 person bed.

The 3rd bedroom is on the other side of the house and has a separate bathroom. We often call this space the gîle, here is also the extra guest room.

There is no shortage of space in the large living room with fireplace!

The beds are all made with anti-allergy duvets.

Of course, an outside terrace with hot tub and BBQ. In the garden (3500 m2) is the heated saltwater private swimming pool.

It is a large, attractive house with every comfort. Cool in the often hot summers and pleasantly warm in the winter. If you prefer, free cleaning is provided in between

To walk
Various long and short walking routes run directly from the house. Beautiful views, very diverse, but above all quiet and calm.

Big and small children
There is plenty of entertainment in the area for both big and small children. The little ones can play in the garden and the lockable swimming pool is ideal for teenagers to chill in the hammocks. Books, games and extensive DVD collection available. Ping Pong table and fitness equipment for the sports enthusiasts.

Stargazing from the hot tub
Be sure to light the hot tub so that you can watch the stars in a lovely warm bath in the evening. There is enough wood available to properly stoke the fires!

Water fun
You can also make beautiful canoe trips in the area or go water skiing on a nearby lake.
Enjoy a relaxing game on the various golf courses or dance at village festivals in the area

Groceries within walking distance
For groceries, there is a friendly local supermarket (with fresh baguettes from 3 different bakeries) within walking distance. The owners Celine and Sebastian are always very friendly and helpful. There is also a pharmacy and restaurant in the village.

Village festivals
In July and August there are festive Thursdays in our village with music, BBQ with local products. Here you can experience a great evening for the whole family with lots of fun. Not enough partying yet, on Fridays such a village festival is 7 minutes away in the beautiful historic village of Saint Robert.
