Near Stupná in Pecka (5km) and Nova Paka (6 km) are two grocery stores and nice restaurants. In both Pecka and Mostek (14 km) are beautiful swimming pools.

Setting:
Stupná lies at the foot of the Giant Mountains. This magnificent mountain is the highest in the Czech Republic and a protected National Park since 1962. It is such a small 930 km from Utrecht, northeast of Prague at the Polish border. In terms of area it is really minor ski resort, yet it has the allure of a high mountain: rugged, barren summits (the highest, the Snezka is 1602 m), canyons, deep wooded river valleys, alpine meadows and waterfalls. The Giant Mountains are the source of the Labe (Elbe), but also of the Upa and Jizera (Iser) with their numerous tributaries.

The region offers many opportunities for walking, cycling and various outdoor sports. It is a popular winter skiing which can be undertaken in the Giant Mountains, as well as various adrenaline sports such as skydiving and abseiling.

We are enthusiastic nature lovers and like to walk in the vicinity of our house and in the Giant Mountains. We also go skiing in winter. We have been coming here for more than 20 years and are far from bored of the beautiful Czech Republic. And after a day outside, you can enjoy our lovely house by the fireplace or the bbq.
