Our very attractive bungalow has two bedrooms with air conditioning, a living room with ceiling fan, open kitchen and a great outdoor terrace. (in Papiamento this is called a porch).
You don't need to bring anything at all, we are provided with enough towels, beach towels and bed linen. Washing machine is available!
Of course free wifi with fiber optics and a smart TV. Kitchen has 4 burner gas stove ,oven ,microwave, toaster, coffee maker and blender. Coffee and tea are provided. With a few steps down, equipped with handrail and stair gate for the little ones, you come to our great back porch (terrace) where there is a large dining table and a bbq.
Lighting by beautiful handmade gourd lamps. The birds (sugar quits and trupial) fly back and forth to our homemade candy spot! Sprinkle a little bit of sugar in the saucer and enjoy!
On the left side of the boch (outdoor terrace) we have planted Moringa oleifera (pepper root tree) trees. This "miracle tree" provides shade on the terrace but is also known for the high nutritional value and medicinal properties of the leaves and fruits of the tree. You are free to pick leaves and dry them in a brown paper bag from the supermarket. Dried it can be made into tea, or you can make powder from it. (*CONTENT HIDDEN*) especially extensively on Moringa oleifera.
Immediately to the right of the poch are Aloe Vera plants. These plants are very common on the island and are also used as medicine. You can cut off a piece of the stem and smear the juice that comes out on red spots of the skin. Sunburn or oven/bbq then relieves very quickly. It does not help for all wounds, but not on open wounds. Aloe juice stains clothes or sheets, so let it dry first!
If it is very hot, you can sit at the back of the bungalow. There are two chairs and a table and you sit right in the wind.
Our bungalow Brasa is decorated with mainly local art on the walls from my parental home on Curacao. We kindly ask you to treat this with respect, partly because of this, Brasa is a very attractive bungalow and certainly not a standard functional holiday home!
In the garden you can hang a hammock, my favorite place. At the end of the day you can watch the sun go down there with a nice drink on a stump of a mahòk (mahogany) tree. Placed there as a "side table".
We have a small Bbq ,which stands on stones to the left of the poch. After use, you should clean the bbq and cover it after it has cooled down.
It remains for us to wish you a great stay in our lovely bungalow. For all questions on site, please contact our caretaker Rugia.
Before your stay, we are of course available for all your questions!
