The holiday home LaComté5 is located in the hamlet of the same name, La Comté, in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes. In the slope of the forest edge, it stands in the middle of a handful of typical Ardennes houses, just 5 minutes by car from the pleasant village of Vielsalm.

The 6-person farmhouse was built around 1600 and converted into an authentic holiday residence with modern comfort. The house is tastefully decorated with nice details and attention to everything needed for a pleasant stay with family or friends.

The cozy kitchen is the beating heart of the house. The walls in old Ardennes stone and old stone floors make the kitchen the place to cook extensively and dine extensively at the wood-fired granny stove. For the cook(s) there is an electric stove (4 burners), a dishwasher, a modern fridge-freezer combination, microwave, sufficient kitchen utensils for the cook(s) and nice crockery.

The cozy living room and lounge area come together with the characteristic wooden half-timbering with contemporary colors and furnishings. Here you can enjoy a nice Belgian pint or a good glass of wine by the crackling wood stove. With your smartphone you stream Netflix on the Smart TV or music to the AV receiver.

Upstairs are 3 cozy double bedrooms. The attractive master bedroom has half-timbered walls, an old wooden floor and characteristic beamed ceiling. A large box spring (1.80x2.00m) ensures excellent sleeping comfort and the walk-in closet offers space for the contents of large suitcases. The 2 other bedrooms are also attractively furnished and offer excellent sleeping comfort, each with two box springs (1.60x2.00m) and a spacious wardrobe. The box springs each consist of 2 separate mattresses.

The 2 modern bathrooms provide the opportunity for a nice shower or a hot bath.

The house also has a lot to offer outside. It is surrounded at the back and side by two spacious gardens. At the back is a terrace where you can BBQ (BBQ and garden furniture are available). On the side of the house is a second large garden with a garden house. You can store your bicycles in the lockable garden house.

Parking
There are parking spaces for 2 passenger cars on the property. You can park for free in the immediate vicinity of the house.

Please keep in mind that around 1600, when the first owners built this house, people were shorter than they are now. Some ceilings and doorways are slightly lower than those of modern houses (people up to 1.90 do not experience any significant discomfort). Level differences are another feature of LaComte 5. The house is not recommended for the disabled.

Explanation of prices

If the tenant wishes to cancel the booking for whatever reason, the tenant must always confirm this to the landlord by e-mail (even if this has already been passed on to the landlord by telephone, for example). The landlord will charge the following amounts: depending on the date of written cancellation by the renter:
  • cancellation more than 3 months before the start of the rental period: free of charge
  • cancellation between the 90th and the 60th day before the start of the rental period: 25% of the rental price
  • cancellation between the 59th and 30th day before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
  • cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price
If the tenant only announces on the commencement date or during the rental period that he will not use the rented property (anymore), he will still owe the full rental price.
