Chalet

MVLG 3214

This Austrian chalet is located in the Belgian Ardennes, near the High Fens, on the outskirts of the village of Ovifat, at about the highest point in Belgium. This holiday home has a magnificent panorama and wildlife regularly crosses the adjacent meadows. You can enjoy a beautiful nature.

The area is ideal for all kinds of outdoor activities such as cycling with the Dutch bicycle on the "Ravel"; (old railway lines), skiing and cross-country skiing (in season) distance ski slope = 2 km, hiking, mountain biking, mountaineering, horseback riding or a game of tennis on site.

There are also plenty of water sports opportunities due to the many lakes (including Lac de Robertville) in the immediate vicinity. Nice tourist towns in the area are Malmedy and Stavelot where you can go shopping or enjoy a nice Belgian beer in a café.

The chalet in the middle of the beautiful Ardennes nature is located in a cul-de-sac with a spacious driveway with parking for at least two cars. Through an outdoor staircase and covered veranda you get access to the entrance hall of the chalet. The "1st floor" floor is therefore about 2 meters above ground level, so you can also enjoy the beautiful view from the inside.

The living room is cosily furnished with a dining area and a cozy sitting area around the wood stove and TV. Also wifi for internet available. Adjacent in a separate room is the kitchen very complete with a dishwasher, electric hob, combi oven and plenty of kitchen utensils and crockery. The kitchen also contains a small dining area for 4 people. Also available: Senseo, filter and coffee cup machine.

From the living room you go through a small hallway to the bathroom and the two bedrooms. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, two sinks and the toilet. The two bedrooms, one with a double bed (1.80 x 2.00, 2 separate mattresses: 0.90 x 2.00) and one room with two single beds (0.80 x 1.90), both have sufficient closet space. Also equipped with pillows and matching loose duvets.

The living room has access to the veranda and garden through two French doors. The terrace (with awnings) on the sunny south, has a garden table with parasol and garden chairs, with cushions.
In the garden house there is an extra second garden set available with parasol and a BBQ to enjoy a snack and a drink on the lawn.

At the bottom of the basement / storage room is a washing machine (bring your own powder), a children's camping bed with mattress (blankets etc. to bring yourself), high chair and bath. You can use the garden house as a storage room for your own bicycles. There are also small children's bicycles available, with toys, football goals and jeu de boules, div. games. Also 2 wooden Sleen and 2 plastic Sleen.

The chalet has wooden shutters all around, hot air heating in all rooms and a wood stove in the living room. Wood is included and sufficiently available.
In the fully enclosed garden of approximately 2200 m² there is a rack with swings, private tennis court, 2 pers. trampoline.
equipped with solar panels! Together with the wood stove and central heating, practically co2 free!

In short, a wonderful house where you will not be bored for a moment, all year round!

We are a Dutch couple and have been living here for a long time. Coming from Limburg, this was the backyard. Only a lot rougher, in winter there is the 1st snow here, in summer the forests and lakes are cooling. We can give you all the tips about this area: we ourselves love walking, cycling in nature, swimming and lazing on the terrace or in the meadow. In the evening there is a beautiful starry sky.
And.... You can enjoy the necessary peace and quiet here!

We enjoyed a nice holiday week. The cottage is really perfect for 2 people. The location is fantastic and for anyone who loves nature and privacy is a must. We have from the cottage seen deer and foxes. A number of birds and lots of small birds such as the apple chaffinch, bullfinch and many different tits, coal tit, great tit, crested tit, many notches, etc. Also nice were the squirrels every morning in the garden were eating. We even made them for birdseed to attract. It's very handy to have a telescope because you can see all the animals well. The owners are very friendly and hospitable people and they can tell a lot about the environment. It was also nice that every day a stock of firewood klaarlag for us. Our thanks and compliments. Andre and Marja

• Mr. Hardenbol, Netherlands Date of stay: 11/07/2008 - 18/07/2008
The Ardennes surpassed our verwachtingen.Heel many hiking opportunities. Nature are beautiful, (homage to the Creator!) The paths so real and natural as possible, we found better than anywhere in the woods or asphalt grindwegjes to find. It sometimes took some effort, but you were really in the middle of nature. We had a car without a car but it is equally difficult to do your shopping. What we found difficult is that you can not pay in the shops with a pass. So you had to always provide cash in his pocket. But before we had it free and situated in a quiet environment. We also have several times seen deer, rabbits and a squirrel that we found funny. All in all, if we have money again is certainly an idea of ??the Bulge Once more to enjoy. Every new guest we wish at least as much pleasure as we had vacation on this beautiful spot of the world, God's garden. Sincerely, C. Hardenbol.
