After many wanderings in France with the caravan, we decided to build a house in the region around the Mont Ventoux. The choice fell on beautiful Montbrun-les-Bains. In 2000, when I was 59, I bought a building plot. Together with an English architect, who had lived and worked in France for years, made plans, looked for a contractor and in 2004 the structural work was completed. First - what is now as an apartment for rent - finished and furnished. Then gradually finished the house with a lot of self-labor and the local craftsmen. It is a large house, so it took a while, until 2016, when everything was ready. During that construction period I was a freelancer, until I was 77, attached to a college as a teacher of mathematics, statistics and Geographical Information Systems (GIS), the lectures ran from October to April, so in the months May to September a lot could be done in France to complete and supervise the dismantling and the internet turned out to be a blessing even then.
It's all ready now we enjoy!
