Mont Ventoux: a challenge for every cyclist!
On each day, each season you meet them: the cycling adepts, they are always working on or around the Mont Ventoux. What drives them? If you ask this question you get no clear answer, but the challenge is always there, the nature, the weather, the atmosphere in combination with a holy need rear ......... Or as we read "In the track from the Pros ".In the sweet Provence, with its fragrant lavender fields and terraces under plane trees, lies a gruesome berg.Als Provence" the Beauty ", then the Mont Ventoux" The Beast ". This "Giant of Provence" or "The Bald Mountain" or even the "Olympus of Provence" labeled pimple is particularly heavy, sweltering hot, or rather chillingly cold, windy and especially grueling ........ This is not exactly a promotional text .............. and still there are available each season swarms of cyclists. Apparently they still find what they are looking for! From the apartment there are plenty of opportunities to take bike rides and to conquer Mont Ventoux from all directions. But do not miss a tour of "La Vallée du Toulourenc" or by "Les Gorges de la Nesque" to maken.En if you find it necessary we will give you a "take and / or return service" at a reasonable km-fee . Not everyone is a Ventourist or Ventousiast, but will sometimes take a trip, which can of course also if you have no bike with you, because in the vicinity are great bikes for rent !.
An Eldorado for walkers?
Yes, absolutely coast and label. Once you believe in: walk among the extensive lavender fields in our area and in season the scent sniffing a lavender Distellerie run or look at how sometimes even with diligent craftsmanship lavender is harvested. Absolute musts are visits to "La Vallée de la Toulourenc" formed by the river that of swirling or rippling is "toul ou RENC" or called "all or nothing". The capriciousness of this river is mirrored in its environment and can be experienced via a walk in the summer usually dry bed. Such a walk can end up in the upper Brantes with an environment and an Auberge that you would want at a time.

After many wanderings in France with the caravan, we decided to buy or build a house in the region around the Mont Ventoux. The choice fell on beautiful Montbrun-les-Bains. In 2000, when I was 59, I bought a building plot, made plans together with an English architect, looked for a contractor and in 2004 the shell was finished.
It is now all ready and we enjoy the house, the beautiful nature and the wonderful climate.
Hope to see you in Montbrun-les-Bains, because this is where the sun lives!
