La Renardiere is a nice holiday home for a short holiday. We were there between Christmas and New Year's Eve. Many opportunities for walks in the area (good hiking boots and clothing are a must). Anna, who manages the cottage, and her husband were very welcoming and very helpful, really great! One downside: the noise of the boiler.

We rented this holiday home the last 2 weeks of September. Upon arrival, Anna came to welcome us and show us around the house.
A lovely cottage in a beautiful location, walking directly from the house is totally our thing, the weather was variable and we used the dry moments as much as possible, we were even able to enjoy the sun on the veranda. Through a car route we were able to explore the Belgian Ardennes, at "the High Fens" we also saw walking routes that we gratefully used, how beautiful it is there! All in all, we enjoyed La Renardiere and the Ardennes.
What is unfortunate is that the description of the holiday home on the site of Micazu does not correspond to reality, especially the furnishings. For example, the mentioned dishwasher is not present and the "new kitchen" is far from new, we also did not find the mentioned gas stove, we cooked on electric plates which is a completely different way of cooking. In my conversation with the owner, the blame for this was placed on Micazu, but I find that very easy. Even now the description hasn't been changed yet so apparently it's okay that way, too bad!

Clean and bright house. Bedrooms a bit dated but good mattresses. Lovely terrace. Location good so you can make beautiful walks with the dog. Including Baraque Michel, along the banks of De Statte, the Hoegne and the Ourthe.

Too bad the garden was not fenced (in any case not for dogs) and there was no gate at the stairs on the terrace. Tip for Micazu: fenced? and fenced for dogs? Include 2 choices in questionnaire.
Also nice was the road at the house that turned into a forest. Suitable for the morning and evening walk with the dog. In short, we enjoyed it, partly because of the beautiful weather.

Lovely cottage. There's something for everyone. Hikers, cyclists, motorcyclists, etc. Even a swimming pool is nearby. You have to be able to handle a bit of traffic noise. Definitely worth repeating.

Our main goal was to celebrate a fireworks-free New Year's Eve. We succeeded, so in that sense our stay was successful. The surroundings are also beautiful and the welcome by manager Anne was warm. But unfortunately there are a few things to criticize about the house itself.
Bathroom and toilet have been renovated and are fine, but the rest of the house is very dated. With the bedrooms as a rather depressing low point; Nothing has been done about it for a very, very, very long time. There was an atmosphere as if grandma was lying in state there last week. The equipment is also not up to date. The heating runs on a very old boiler with an accompanying unsightly thermostat, which seems to care little about the set or the actual room temperature, and therefore in fact only has two settings: off or on. And 'on' is '35 degrees warm-on'. So with sloshing armpits I turn off the heater again, and turn it on again an hour later. In addition, the stove - which is in the garage under the house, right under the bedroom! - the sound of a diesel generator. When we figured out how to deal with this after a lot of hassle, it turned out that the toilet was running very badly, almost clogged (reported to the manager, but she indicated that this is normal. Hopefully future tenants will be less bothered by this...).
And when we were ready for a glass of wine after all the hassle, both corkscrews turned out to be completely useless.
