Nice apartment in a good location. Central to visit places like Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and Vinci. Train station is in Empoli, approx. 20 minutes by car. Contact with the landlord is fine.

Had a lovely quiet week in a nice house. Beautiful surroundings where there is always something new to discover. Daphne is a very attentive and adequate landlord.

In real life, Podere le Tortore is even more beautiful than in the pictures. We enjoyed the accommodation, the swimming pool, the beautiful olive grove, the view with the most amazing sunsets in the evening. All famous places such as Florence, Lucca. Pisa, Volterra are within an hour's drive of the property. But don't forget to visit the small villages in the area.

Podere le Tortore is a fantastic holiday retreat, not least because of the hospitality and care of Daphne and her husband. Interested and empathetic without being intrusive, sweet and involved when I was sick, and always generous with good tips and nice addresses. The location is fantastically central to nice places such as Lucca, Siena and Florence (ideal to do by train from Empoli). You always need the car for restaurant or groceries, but that was not an issue for me. Beautiful location, beautiful surroundings, also for beautiful (tough!) walks. And a lovely swimming pool to cool off in, with a view. Grazie mille, Daphne e Nicola!
