Nice neat house. Receives well arranged. Location is fine for us, nice and quiet. The area is rural and spacious with cycling and walking opportunities. Supermarket Westerhaar (Jumbo) is fine. Catering in the area, sufficient supply, but reservations on Sundays.

We were 3 couples, all three with a baby. Beautiful spot and spacious enough. Unfortunately the shower was clogged and we couldn't shower.

They knew about it in advance and I don't think you should rent it out.

They did solve it reasonably with a discount, but if we knew this we wouldn't have booked it.

A nice house in a prime location! Here you can completely relax. What a luxury to walk into the water with more than 30 degrees from your terrace with a private beach. The paddle boards that we had rented extra were a nice addition. A surprising and peaceful environment. There are several mountain bike trails nearby. The house is fully equipped. Plenty of space inside and outside. Excellent WiFi. Pleasant contact with the owner and the manager. They responded quickly to questions and were open to criticism, suggestions and tips. All in all a great holiday!

However, there are a number of points for improvement. Curious if this review will be visible since the owner can decide whether a review is posted.... The points below create an honest picture when it comes to real reviews. Mere praise is not credible.

Child-friendliness: a baby cot is offered, but there are no stair gates. The doors must therefore always be closed. Experience during our holiday shows that 2 seconds of not paying attention means that our little one of 15 months was already halfway up the stairs.

Transition to the beach: there is also danger for the children here. If you don't look for a moment, they are right by the water. The height difference between the garden and the beach is also not protected with, for example, a simple fence.

Cleaning overall it looked fine. It was only when our little one played on the floor that it became clear that the floor was very dirty. Now I understand that a floor is never completely clean, but this could have been considerably better, especially for €125 cleaning costs. In addition, a lot of cobwebs, spiders and silverfish. We also have the latter from time to time, but there were quite a few of them.

A unique place, the location is beautiful and serene. You have a beautiful view over the water. As a family we enjoyed ourselves. The house is nice and neatly decorated. We were cheerfully welcomed by Harry. Harry had arranged everything well. From the house you can enjoy walking/swimming and cycling. The surroundings are also beautiful. You can enjoy walking on the Engbertsdijksvenen (this is a protected area in Vriezenveen). Going to Ootmarsum and to the Peat Museum is also recommended. Spent 2 weeks in Westerhaar at the end of July, beginning of August. The house is great and fully equipped. All windows and sliding doors to the terrace are equipped with mosquito nets, which is very nice. The view is amazing and will be missed by all of us. We had a lovely swim in the lake. The wifi was excellent so our boys were extremely satisfied. It is a quiet area but there are nice villages in the area that you can visit. Ordered fresh sandwiches every day from the park across the street so that was great. Nearby is distillery/farm of Kalkwijck where you can do a tasting and where they make a beautiful regional product where they grow and process everything themselves. Definitely worth a visit. We had a very successful holiday in beautiful surroundings.
