Back to 1969 with the time machine. What a feast of recognition upon arrival. And what a beautiful week we had in the Verpoozing and what luck, also nice weather. Eating outside, reading in the hammock in the woods, rest, squirrels and the tawny owl at night. Swimming in the vicinity, the Sallandse Heuvelrug (beautiful purple heather, early in the year) around the corner, museum visit Ruurlo, eating ice cream in Holten. And early in the morning with the coffee mug in hand, door open and sniffing the early scent of the forest. And in the evening the lights are on and there we are in the retro 60s house. Delicious... we liked it very much in your cottage Dorien. Hope to see you soon... and then we'll definitely play Waltzing Matilda by Tom Waits.... Goodbye

Beautiful retro cottage, very cozy. In 60s/70s style. Super clean. Washing up yourself in a tub, like back then. Forest-garden with squirrel and birds. Lots of nice things nearby to nature and Deventer at 20 minutes by car. For those who love thrift stores, there are many in the immediate vicinity. Dorien, the owner of this nice house, gives tips about it in her guestbook. Those shops are great, we did a thrift drive, a lot of fun. In short, enjoyed our week in De Verpoozing! Thank you Dorien. We had a wonderful time in De Verpoozing. These 2.5 weeks have flown by! What a peace, so nice and relaxed! Glad we were able to adjust the arrival and departure day.

The large windows all around are fantastic to experience the forest from the inside. The squirrels that came by regularly and the birds, so nice to watch them from the living room!
The cottage is furnished with great attention to detail and wonderfully clean!
The personal welcome was pleasant, the filled cookie and candy boxes were very much appreciated :-)
In short, a big 10!!

What a pleasant stay in this cute retro forest cottage. You imagine yourself 'visiting grandma' again and when you sit down quietly, you can hear her knitting needles ticking. What a wonderful peace and quiet there is in and around the cottage. Birds and squirrels visit you regularly and look at you with an inquisitive eye. After a few treats, it really becomes 'children at home'. Also nice that the landlord came halfway with a local delicacy to inquire if everything was still okay. Well, more than okay though. It has made us curious about spring. Would it be even better?

If you like a bit of retro, this is a very nice house. Don't expect a luxurious bathroom or kitchen with dishwasher. Completely in 60s style, very attractively decorated and fully furnished. On the edge of the forest in a very beautiful area and very suitable for beautiful trips by bike. For the owner only compliments: very thoughtful with a nice welcome card, tasty biscuits and some goodies when you leave!
