Chalet Schutzhütte

LOCATION
Blatten, located in beautiful nature, is one of the most beautiful skiing and hiking areas in the Alps with the higher Belalp.

DWELLING
General: spacious and luxurious, detached chalet, directly in the center of the sunny and snow-sure village of Blatten (near Belalp).
Parking: The Chalet has its own parking space. The distance to the chalet is less than 50 meters. 

Living room: living room with open kitchen, dining area, sitting area with wood stove, smart television, door to balcony (south-facing balcony).
Kitchen: fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, induction hob, oven, coffee maker (filter and nespresso) & kettle. Microwave is available; is in storage room under the stairs

Toilet

3 Bedrooms, 1x double bed & wardrobe, 1 x two single beds & wardrobe, 1 x bunk bed & closet

Beds: all beds are equipped with new quality mattresses. There are single down duvets available.

Bathroom: shower, 2 sinks, toilet and underfloor heating.

Ski storage: underfloor heating, washing machine.

A cot and a high chair are available.

Bed linen and towels in 1 package: it is possible to rent bed linen and towels (please specify when booking). You must pick it up and return it to Beltour (next to the supermarket). The rental price of the bed linen must be paid in advance by bank transfer (we provide the details).

You must bring your own kitchen linen.

GARDEN
Terrace: all around is a garden with a sunny terrace. In summer with wooden picnic table & BBQ. Space for snow fun in winter!
Garden furniture: garden furniture is available on the terrace in the garden and on the balcony: eg. BBQ, picnic table, garden chairs and a parasol

Nature: Blatten is located in the middle of the Aletsch nature reserve, which has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002.

ACCESSIBILITY
Private transport: easily accessible by car all year round. The fastest route is via Basel-Bern-Kandersteg-Goppenstein-Brig-Naters-Blatten.
Station: With the international train connection, you can comfortably travel to Switzerland up to Brig. After that, there is a good bus service from Brig to Blatten.

Nearby cities: BRIG (distance from Blatten to Brig is 8 km; +/- 15 minutes by car), VISP (approx. 17 km; +/- 30 minutes by car)
Airport: Switzerland: Geneva (international+train connection Brig), Sion (regional). Italy: Malpensa Milan (international).

ACTIVITIES

Summer: eg. children's playground, swimming pool Brigerbad with rapids & slide of 182 meters!
Winter: skiing & snow fun
-For adults
including hiking, mountain biking, canyoning, thermal bath Brigerbad, day trip to Zermatt/Matterhorn or Italy/Lake Maggiore.
Golf: golf enthusiasts can visit the golf course just outside Brig, or the golf course in Riederalp at an altitude of 2000m!
Tourist activities: both in summer and winter there are plenty of tourist activities to experience in Blatten and the immediate vicinity

WINTER SPORT
Snow security: in recent years, the area has proven to be particularly snow-sure. There was sufficient snow from December to mid-April
Ski resort size: lifts up to 3112 m above sea level. Slopes: 60 km (20 km blue, 20 km red & 20 km black). Toboggan run: 7 km (also in the evening)
Distance to lifts: the valley station of the gondola is 100m. from the chalet. The gondola takes you from 1325m to 2086m (Belalp) in 7 minutes
Tobogganing / Sledding: from Belalp to Blatten a special sledding descent of 7 km in length is possible. A spectacular experience in the evening!
Ski rental: Ski, ski boots, snowboards, snowboards, snowboard boots, sleds can be rented at 2 sports shops within walking distance.
Discount on ski pass: discount on ski passes, FREE for children up to 6 years old, 50% for children from 6-16 years old. 
Childcare: childcare in the playground at the ski school on Belalp "Swiss Snow Kids Village", ski lessons from 4 yrs, snowboard lessons from 7 yrs.
Winter sports season 2024-2025: the winter sports season officially starts in Blatten/Belalp this year on December 14, 2024 to April 6, 2025.
Snow cannons: in the ski area of Blatten/Belalp there are snow cannons in various places to provide extra snow if necessary.
