A cosy, original Swedish holiday home in a relaxing environment
Vår Vik has a spacious kitchen with extensive amenities, such as dishwasher, ceramic hob, oven, mixer, sandwich maker, coffee filter machine, etc.
Downstairs is a bedroom with a large double bed. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, each with a double bed. Equipment present: TV (satellite dish available), radio, vacuum cleaner, washing machine, iron, hair dryer.
The stairs (to the upper floor) are not suitable for people who have difficulty walking.

In the large barn (the uthus) is the wood supply. Of course, there are comfortable garden furniture and cushions. There is a nice barbecue at your disposal. And there is a beautiful fire pit on the site, where a nice campfire can be built.

The rent also includes: duvets, sheets, (bath) towels, kitchen linen. You can also use a small polyester boat, which is located at the jetty by the river.
In the cleaning costs, we have also included the washing of the linen and towels, the electricity and the wood for the wood stove.

We do not use low and high season prices.
The minimum number of rental days is 3.
Linen (bed linen, towels, kitchen linen) is included in the rental price.
Attention : we have a cancellation policy. If you cancel at least 30 days before check-in, you will receive a 100% refund of the amount you paid. If you cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel between 14 and 0 days before check-in, the amount paid will not be refunded.
We advise you to take out cancellation insurance within 7 days of booking, so that no disappointments or misunderstandings can arise.
If the tenant wishes to cancel the booking for whatever reason, the tenant must always confirm this to the landlord by e-mail (even if this has already been communicated to the landlord by telephone, for example).

Welcome to the website of Vår Vik, our original Swedish and cozy house. We are very happy and proud of our house and invite you to get to know and enjoy it, just like us. Vår Vik is a perfect place to relax and unwind in the typical South Swedish landscape with the variety of forests, lakes and open fields and with the town of Markaryd and cultural opportunities at accessible distance. Enjoy together with your family, family or friends of our house and the environment. Vår Vik is originally a so-called soldier's house and was built in the early 1900's. A small house for the soldier and his family. The house consisted of two rooms, a kitchen and an open attic. Over the years there have been renovations and a piece has been built on the back. The original construction consists of the current living and downstairs bedroom, the staircase and the place where the wood stove is located in the current kitchen. The soldier was given access to a large farmer's shed at such a house: the uthus (pronounced: uuthuus). The uthus consists of three spaces that are interconnected. There was some cattle in the right-hand room. Vår Vik is situated 2.5 kilometers northwest of Markaryd in the hamlet of Åmot. Markaryd is located in the extreme southwestern part of (landskap) Småland, adjacent to Halland and Skåne. There are three large supermarkets in Markaryd: ICA, COOP and Netto. These are open every day from 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. On Saturday afternoon all shops, except the supermarkets, are closed. Markaryd also has banks, health centers, a pharmacy, restaurants and eateries. Towns and cities: Laholm (30 minutes away), Hässleholm (45 minutes), Kristianstad (60 minutes), Halmstad (60 minutes), Helsingborg (60 minutes), Båstad and surroundings (60 minutes), Växjö (70 minutes). From Helsingborg (on the west coast) you can make a trip with a pedestrian ferry to Helsingør (on the east coast of Denmark). There are many curio and antique shops in the area. See the folder in the information folder. Regularly you see a sign with "loppis" on the side of the road. For children there are nice things to do in the area: for example canoeing (the canoe center is close by), visiting the elk safari park. In the house there are two folders full of information about what to do in the area.
