Welcome to our cozy vacation home in beautiful Jämtland, Sweden!

Located on a quiet side road of the well-known Vildmarksvägen, our spacious and comfortable house offers space for 8 people.

Upon entering you will find the practically equipped, fully equipped kitchen on the left. Directly behind it is a spacious double bedroom. The cosy living room has a TV, DVD player and music system, and there is a wide selection of movies and games for rainy days. You will also find brochures and flyers with information about sights and activities in the area.

On the ground floor is also the bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.

On the first floor you will find:

- A double room
- Two rooms with two single beds
- A second living room
- A separate toilet

Outside, you can enjoy long summer evenings at the cozy grill area and comfortable seating.

Life on our farm
Our house is next to the holiday home, and we keep sheep, pigs, chickens and turkeys. In the summer we grow our own vegetables as much as possible and we have fresh eggs every day. In addition, we make our own sausages, hamburgers and meat products from our own meat.

Here you can completely relax. The surrounding forests and quiet country lanes are perfect for walks and bike rides. The many lakes invite you to kayak or spend a relaxing day fishing. In late summer and autumn you can pick plenty of wild berries and mushrooms.

In winter, you can enjoy cross-country skiing or ice fishing, and there are opportunities for snowmobile and dog sledding in the area.

The nearest town, Strömsund (50 km), offers supermarkets, shops and restaurants. The nearest airport is Östersund Airport, 150 km from the property.

We are an Argentinian-Dutch couple who met in New Zealand. After many wanderings, we finally found our home in beautiful Sweden. We fell in love with the peace, the vast nature and the hospitable people—and we would like to share that love with you.

Our dream spot is located in the heart of Jämtland, tucked away along a quiet side road of the famous Vildmarksvägen.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

If the renter wishes to cancel the booking for any reason, the renter must always confirm this by e-mail to the landlord (even if this has already been communicated to the landlord by telephone, for example). The landlord will charge the following amounts, depending on the date of writtencancellation by the tenant:

cancellation more than 3 months before the start of the rental period: free of charge
Cancellation between the 90th and the 60th day before the start of the rental period: 25% of the rental price
Cancellation between the 59th and the 30th day before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price

If the tenant only announces on the start date or during the rental period that he will not make any use of the leased property, he will continue to owe the full rent.

The 42 meter high Hällingså Waterfall is a truly powerful experience! You can drive all the way to the falls, but you'll want to stop at the parking lot about a mile before you reach the waterfall and take the 1.5-mile hike through the gorge.

The path runs along the Hällingsån and up through Sweden's largest gorge. Right at the beginning of the gorge there is an incredibly beautiful place for swimming. The hike can be difficult at times, but the views (when you arrive at the gorge) are beautiful.

When the sun shines on the waterfall, it is not uncommon to see a beautiful rainbow. Thanks to the high humidity around the waterfall, rare lichens and ferns grow on the ravine slopes around the falls. For those interested in birds, buzzards and peregrine falcons nest in the crevices of the gorge.

A visit to Ankarede Kyrkstad is a journey back in time. You can expect a unique experience, filled with authentic cultural elements, fascinating historical insights and unparalleled vistas. Ankarede is the only Sami church town in Jämtland still in use. There are about thirty wooden huts, some church houses, a small museum and a cozy café (open in the summer months).

It has long been a gathering and meeting place for the Sami people of northern Jämtland. Reindeer and reindeer herders from Frostviken used to pass here on their way between summer and winter pastures. Even today, Ankarede is a meeting place, with events organized around Christmas and Midsummer.
