Villa La Loma has everything to make a stay unforgettable: all the comfort and a beautiful quiet location, between the olive tree-studded mountains, with a lovely heated large swimming pool in the garden with lots of privacy, more than half an hour's drive from the sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol and an hour from Malaga airport and only a 5-minute walk from two fine bar/restaurants in the hamlet of Los Ventorros. Furthermore, a unique view of both the sea and the mountains and because of its location on the hill ("La Loma") there is almost always a nice breeze on hot days so that even in the Spanish summer it is wonderful to stay there!
In addition to the cool living/dining room, the fully fitted kitchen with Boretti appliances and the sunny breakfast/dining room, there is of course the spacious patio. The unique patio is the heart of this typical Andalusian villa. Our spacious patio has a sun area and a covered shaded area. Plenty of seating options to enjoy the rising sun together, take a nice siesta, BBQ with the Weber bbq or spend a very long typical Andalusian evening. There are also three spacious 2-p-bedrooms (including one with an extra 2-p-sofa bed) each with a private bathroom, they are all equipped with fine box-spring beds and of course with linen, (bath) towels and so on. If you stay longer, there is also plenty of linen to change, both for your bedrooms and for the kitchen. We will take care of the laundry again after your stay!
The spacious swimming pool with descending stairs of Villa La Loma catches the first morning sun until the last rays of the day. In the sun or in the shade of the Spanish umbrellas along the pool it is good to relax with usually a breeze that can provide cooling.
The sun shines almost all year round and for the cooler nights, Villa La Loma, as one of the very few in the region, has a complete heating of the entire house.
Villa La Loma offers the possibility, if you don't feel like cooking yourself, or just want to be pampered, to have a chef take care of your meal completely. Blissful, isn't it, an evening at a restaurant at home! And possibly accompanied by Luis' beautiful Spanish songs, supported by his guitar.
A few minutes' drive from Villa La Loma you can wander through the quiet, narrow streets of the, in origin, Moorish and still authentic, Andalusian highest white town of Comares. The fascinating history of Andalusia is still visible in the Moorish watchtower which has more or less stood the test of time. In Comares, fresh bread is also baked daily at Panaderia Angela Padilla and the local supermarket Coviran. There is also a beautiful hiking trail from Villa La Loma to the center of Comares, a 2.9 km trip.
Enjoy a 'menu del dia' in, for example, Benamargose (for a tenner pp. at Villa Pepita) or visit Bahia Beach club with its 'Ibiza look' on the kilometer-long, pleasantly busy and guarded, beach of Torre del Mar, which is about 25 km away and offers entertainment for young and old. For an extensive nightlife you can go all along the coast from Malaga to Nerja.
The overwhelmingly beautiful cities of Granada, Seville, and Cordoba are all well worth a visit. Granada is only about 140 km away and the way to get there is an experience in itself (tip: if you want to visit the Alhambra, book your tickets online, it saves a long queue). The city of Malaga (with its airport) is about 40 km from Villa La Loma and offers everything you need from a modern big city. The old core is beautifully preserved and invites you to stroll and forget the time on a terrace. A rental car is recommended, but transportation from Malaga Airport can also be arranged.
Villa La Loma is ideal for a quiet, undoing anything for a week, holiday, but also as a starting point for an active discovery holiday. Horse riding (also for advanced skiers), fishing and canoeing on the artificial lake Lake Vinuela, skiing on the slopes on the Sierra Nevada from October to May, mountain biking (starting from the front door!), (learning) mountaineering under supervision from Comares, cycling with or without guidance. And of course the water sports on the long and wide sandy beaches of Torre del Mar and Caleta. See also turismocomares.es. Cycling is a challenge here and of course you can enjoy walking in the Montes de Malaga, among others.
One thing is certain: slowing down is not a verb in Villa La Loma but a natural fact due to its quiet and unique location and appearance. Before you know it, home is far away and a long time ago. Relax and recharge your batteries under the Andalusian sun in comfort and privacy, Villa La Loma is made for it.
You are most welcome! Eric & Marga
