It was Gabriel Miro who named the mountain “Ponoig” (1,181 m) ¨Léon Dormido” (Sleeping Lion), which stands out next to the charming village of Polop below. Polop is a characteristic Spanish village and is located on the beautiful tourist route to the "waterfalls of Algar". Because the waterfalls are a short distance away, the natural water sources are located in Polop; Font del Xorrets.
