You can take hours of walks there, take a rest in a lookout post where you will find special birds in the ponds or explore the roads around the nature park by mountain bike. For the stubborn walker there is also a beautiful beach road of about 2 hours that takes you along unspoilt bays and natural beauty to the beautiful town of Santa Pola. Within a radius of 30 km you will also find 4 golf courses and for the slightly more extreme athlete you have a paragliding school in Gran Alacant that teaches you all the tricks of the paragliding. However, you do not have to stay in Gran Alacant because you can make beautiful trips from Gran Alacant by land, by sea or in the air. Gran Alacant is 15 kilometers from Alicantes International Airport, which offers a good and broad service to the traveler with its 72 destinations. You can be in Madrid in less than 1 hour! You can also make beautiful trips per country to, for example, the beautiful cities of Valencia (200 km), Cartagena (90 km) or Murcia (80 km). If you want to keep it a bit closer, you can easily take the bus from Gran Alacant that stops at different street corners in Gran Alacant, to Santa Pola or Alicante. In Santa Pola (8 km) you have a beautiful boulevard with many shops and restaurants on the beach. You will also find remains of the city walls that surrounded the city at the cozy market square. Of course there is also entertainment for the Kids in Santa Pola; Pola park in Santa Pola, this park opens at 6 p.m. and is open no less than 2 a.m. Don't forget to bring your socks for the ball pit. In Alicante center (15 km), a large bustling city, you will find something for everyone: a beautiful marina, the intriguing Santa Barbara castle with a beautiful view of the entire city, the many shops and shopping centers, the beautiful beach 'El Postiguet ', a large boulevard, the traffic-free barrio with typical squares and restaurants and much more. From Alicante and Santa Pola you can also take the boat to the tourist island 'Tabarca', highly recommended! Other beautiful and interesting excursions are the UNESCO-protected palm gardens in Elche (15 km), the quiet beaches, beautiful dyke and marina in Guardamar (30 km) and the salt lakes towards La Marina. Fun trips, also for kids: "Aquapark" or Rojales is the second water park in Valencia. Visitors are entertained with various attractions, reatuarants, shaded areas, cafeterias, lawn, picnic fields and a large parking lot. Tabarca is a small island off the Spanish coast, a few kilometers from the town of Santa Pola. The island is part of the province of Alicante. It is only 1800 meters long and it has a maximum width of 400 meters. The maximum height is 15 meters. In the immediate vicinity there are a number of much smaller, uninhabited islands and cliffs. At the seaside resort of Benidorm is this beautiful park, called Mundomar, with its dolphins, sea lions, penguins and many other animals. Of course there are various shows, such as a beautiful dolphin show. The park is on a mountain slope and you look out over the entire area. In Benidorm there are various parks such as the Terra Mitica amusement park, the Terra Natura animal park and the Agualandia water park. There is also a water park in Torrevieja.
