Albir Playa is a modern coastal town, spacious and clean with a beautiful and long beach promenade. Albir is an ideal location to visit the Costa Blanca with places such as the picturesque old town of Altea, Guadalest and its fortress, the waterfalls of Algar, Villajoyosa with its beautifully colored houses and lovely sandy beach, the Jalon valley (famous for its almond blossom in February ), Calpe with its beautiful beaches and the Peñón de Ifach (a huge limestone rock in the sea, a nature reserve), coastal towns such as Javea and Denia, hiking in la Sierra de Bernia and la Sierra Helada and much more. ............................... The province of Alicante has something for everyone, beautiful white villages, beach life, golf courses, horseback riding, cycling, hiking in the mountains, all kinds of water sports, fun entertainment parks, spas, local street markets, bodegas and of course shopping and entertainment. Eating out in Albir, Altea and the surrounding area is really affordable enjoying the flavors of the sea, together with the magnificent paellas and other rice and pasta dishes, traditional in this area. The Spanish wines are excellent and very affordable compared to other wine countries. There is also a wide choice of international restaurants that offer something for everyone. The nearest airport is Alicante, 50 minutes from Albir/Altea. The city of Alicante is a 35 minute drive from Albir and is a beautiful Spanish coastal town and definitely worth a visit. It has a lovely beach, a harbor, a wide range of restaurants, terraces, nice cafes and shops, museums, beautiful squares with old huge rubber trees, the castle of Santa Barbara and the Esplanada for walking. Valencia, the 3rd largest city in Spain, is approximately 1.15 hours away and is a vibrant city that has a lot to offer in terms of culture, architecture, food, museums and of course the well-known City of Arts and Sciences in the Turia Park .
