Barbate Beach House is a renovated authentic Andalusian house with a patio located on the Costa de la Luz. The property is located in the old town of Barbate on a pedestrian street. Within a 1-minute walk you will find 2 tapas bars where you can have breakfast and lunch and dinner on weekends. There is also a large parking lot 250 meters from the house where you can park your car for free.
Barbate is an authentic Spanish fishing town where you will experience the real Spain among the hospitable people who live here. Spain is the country of outdoor living and you can experience that completely in Barbate. In addition, Barbate is known for the red tuna that is caught here for a maximum of 45 days a year in May and June.
Playa del Carmen beach
The house is located +/- 250 meters from the boulevard (Paseo Maritimo) and the large sandy beach. This beach is called Playa Del Carmen and is known for its pleasant temperature, little current and no stones. This is a nice beach for everyone, including children, to stay. You can also go surfing and kayaking here.
Surroundings Barbate
Barbate is also a fantastic place for nature and (water) sports enthusiasts. The area offers several hiking trails through the national park "La Breña" where there are also several mountain bike trails. In addition, you can surf in Barbate and El Palmar and Los Caños de Mecca offers a beautiful kite spot. In Caños de Mecca you can also visit Trafalgar, a historic site in Spanish and English history.
From Zahara de Los Atunes to Conil de la Frontera there is a cycle path. Do bring your road bike or electric bike, the road has height differences. Electric bicycles are available for rent in Barbate. In the evening you can take the car or taxi to the idyllic Vejer de la Frontera where you can eat, stroll, and shop. Also enjoy the beautiful view of the entire surroundings of Barbate (360 degrees). Do you like horseback riding? In Zahora you can rent a horse with or without supervision.
Within a 1-hour drive you can also visit the beautiful Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera and Tarifa. Seville is a 1 hour and 45-minute drive from Barbate. Malaga is a 2 hour and 20 minute drive away.
Flamenco
Andalusia is known for its Flamenco. This is an important part of life in this part of Spain and has its own music, dance, clapping and clothing. There is a good chance that you will hear the music live in and around Barbate.
