Casa Corcoran is a spacious holiday home in Alcaucín for 8 people, with a private pool and a view that you will not get tired of after a week. From the house you look over the hills of the Axarquía to Lake Viñuela, which gets a different shade of blue during the day.
The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, plus a separate guest toilet. This makes it very suitable for two families, a family with grandparents or a group of friends. Everyone has their own place and in the morning no one has to wait for the shower to be free.
Outside, everything revolves around the pool. It's all yours alone, so you decide when to jump in. Early in the morning when it is still quiet, or at the end of the afternoon when the worst of the heat has passed. The sunbeds are ready for those who prefer to lie in the sun with a book.
Casa Corcoran is quiet, but you don't have to go up a bumpy dirt path to get there. The house can be reached via a paved road, so even with a normal rental car you can drive to the door without any worries. Within five minutes you are in the village for fresh sandwiches or a cup of coffee on the square.

Alcaucín is a white mountain village in the Axarquía, the green hinterland of the eastern Costa del Sol. The village is five minutes from the house. You will find a small supermarket for daily shopping and several bars and restaurants, where you can sit down among the villagers for tapas or a long Spanish lunch.
The house is located at the foot of the Sierra Tejeda, at the entrance to the Natural Park of Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama. Hikers are therefore just right here. From Alcaucín, routes lead into the mountains, from a gentle walk among the pine trees to the steep climb of La Maroma, the highest mountain in the province of Málaga at over 2,000 meters.
Lake Viñuela, which you can see from the house, is a nice place for a walk along the shore or a picnic by the water. Around the lake are small villages where life still goes at a leisurely pace and where you can eat very well for little money.
Fancy a day at the seaside? In 30 minutes you can drive to the beach of Torre del Mar. There awaits a wide sandy beach with a long promenade and beach bars where the sardines are grilled over the wood fire. Nerja, Frigiliana and the city of Málaga are also doable as a day trip.
