Hidden between the mountains of Serra da Estrela Natural Park, central Portugal, lies our rustic holiday home. Built on a centuries-old granite farmhouse and surrounded by nature, silence and wide views, this is a place where you can slow down but also be active in the natural park.
Inside you will find natural materials, a cozy wood stove and an attractive bedroom with a view of the rock wall behind the house. Outside there is a sunny terrace with panoramic views over the mountains, where you can start the day with birdsong and end it under a clear starry sky. Currently one holiday home is rented out. The owner also lives on the 7 hectares of land, which is completely surrounded by nature. There is therefore plenty of privacy.
Whether you come to walk, relax, write, discover nature or simply get away from the hustle and bustle, here you will find the space to catch your breath. From the house you walk directly into the mountains, along old paths, granite rocks, wild herbs and hidden streams. Just a five-minute drive away are several authentic villages and natural river beaches where you can swim during the warm months.
The farm is located above the village of Famalicão da Serra, with views over a large part of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park and Torre, the highest point in Portugal. In winter and spring you can see the snow-capped peaks, while in spring the surroundings turn fresh green and smell of wild mint and flowers. In autumn, the chestnut trees are full and in summer, the many river beaches invite you to cool off.
This is the real Portugal. Unspoiled, hospitable and connected to nature. A place where the days are determined by the rhythm of the mountains and where peace and quiet is still a matter of course.
The holiday home is suitable for two people and offers all the comforts for a relaxing stay. A dog is welcome, but only in consultation. Cats and a dog also live on the farm.
