Casa da Figueira

The "Fig Tree House" says it all; This is located under a huge fig tree, which acts as a natural air conditioner in the summer; it is always cool underneath. In winter, it drops its leaves and lets the sun through, allowing light and warmth to enter the house. Nevertheless, the cottage is well insulated, so that it is nice to stay there in summer and winter.

The cottage overlooks the mountains of the Monchique and has 45m2 and is spacious enough for 2 adults and possibly 2 small children. The spacious bedroom has access to the bathroom. There is a bed of 160cm wide and there is a folding bed of 90x200cm. In between hangs a curtain and the room offers more privacy.  Furthermore, the cottage is equipped with every luxury: the kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, grill, coffee maker, fridge-freezer, toaster and kettle.  

In the bathroom a rain shower. On the terrace at the front of the cottage you can sit in the sun, but there are also several shaded spots. There is a lounge area, a large outdoor table and a hammock. Parking is available at the cottage; When you go through the shared gate / entrance and drive 120m through you will find the land where the house is completely private. The tank, which functions as a swimming pool during the summer months, is located near the entrance of the site and is for communal use just like the BBQ. 

The cottage is located on the outskirts of the village of Odiaxere. It is located in the western part of the Algarve and is easy to reach about 45 minutes from Faro airport by car. It is a quiet village, but there are plenty of nice cafes and restaurants to relax and enjoy the sunset. There is a supermarket, a butcher, a bakery and there is a market every day where you can buy fresh vegetables, fruit and fish. The house is ideal for people who love peace and nature. Yet the house is not secluded and is within walking distance of the center.
