Casal de Dona Elisabeth is a restored former Portuguese farmhouse with private swimming pool, located on a hill in the rolling countryside between Paderne and Tunes, wonderfully quiet yet very central in the Algarve.
Only 15 minutes by car from Albufeira with its beautiful beaches, many terraces, restaurants and golf courses. In Vale Pegas at 1 km there is a mini mercado and in Tunes, at 3 km, there is a connection to the highway and a train station and there are shops, restaurants, a supermarket and cafes.
A little further away in Ferreiras, you can also do your shopping at Lidl, Aldi and Pingo Doce.

During the restoration of the farm, two independent houses were created:
The spacious main house from this advertisement, the Quinta, has three bedrooms and is fully equipped for groups of up to six people, has several terraces and is rented out including private use of the large swimming pool. The swimming water is quickly at a very pleasant temperature thanks to our pool cover.

Our second home is the Cottage, with two bedrooms for four guests. In addition to the sunny terrace in front of the door, this house also has two roof terraces above the garage. However, the use of the swimming pool is reserved for guests in the Quinta.
The Quinta and the Cottage together form a family accommodation if you want to come with more than six people, or if you want to have your own house and privacy with two groups but still want to enjoy the swimming pool together.
What could be more pleasant when you, for example, come as parents with your children and their grandparents!

From 15 July to 31 August and during the May holidays, we only rent out the houses in combination.

The nearby historic town of Paderne is famous for its Moorish castle, a Roman bridge, the ever-flowing spring with wonderfully cool water flowing into a river where you can also swim, and the beautiful church. The area is a feast for the eyes and it is wonderful for walking and mountain biking, for the latter you need to be reasonably practiced because there are more climbs than you might expect.
In the reception folder you will find walking routes, including marked walks in the area. For cycling enthusiasts, Willem, as an experienced mountain biker, has made beautiful route descriptions through rural areas, where you will still pass a café from time to time for a cup of coffee with something sweet...

The Quinta has a combined heating/cooling in the living room/kitchen, cooling and heating are included in the price.
There is also a closed wood stove, wood is available but not included and costs only €3 per basket.

Bath towels and bath towels are provided in sufficient quantities and included in the price, as are hand and glass towels and bed linen.

One pet is often welcome, in consultation, for a small fee for the cleaning lady.

Bookings from young people under the age of 25 only, i.e. without their parents, will not be accepted.

We advise you to take out cancellation insurance in case you have to cancel your reservation. We cannot be obliged to return any payments made. 
                                                                                                    
By entering into a rental agreement, you also agree to comply with the recommendations of our manager on site. In particular, the use of the pool cover is mandatory in all seasons.

We have a rental license and the Complaints Book (Livro de Reclamações) that is mandatory in Portugal.

The "Clean and Safe" vignette is only awarded to legal landlords who meet strict hygiene and safety requirements, established by the Portuguese Ministry of Health in connection with Covid-19

After purchasing and renovating our farm, we started renting out the Cottage as a holiday home in 1998, while we lived in the Quinta.
We have lived in Brielle since 2012 and also rent out the Quinta with private swimming pool.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

If you book a two-week stay outside the summer season, we give a 5% discount, 10% for three weeks and 15% for four weeks

Winter guests in the Quinta pay €1460 incl. cleaning for a stay of four weeks and an occupancy of 2 people Ask us for a free quote because the standard Micazu calculation shows a price that is too high for a longer stay. We will then adjust the price so that you can book for the special, lower price.

We ask for a deposit of 30% to be paid within one week of booking. The remainder, together with the deposit of €300, no later than six weeks before arrival.

We do not rent to groups of young people up to 25 years of age.

  • Renting your own transport is essential because renting an Uber is not possible and public transport is too far away.

Location & area recommendations

Additional information

We ensure that the houses are always up-to-date, for example, the winter guests have underfloor heating in the bathroom. The Quinta has air conditioning/heating in the living room/kitchen, a separate guest toilet and a dishwasher. The pool terraces have been extended to accommodate ten new sun loungers with side tables, parasols and a BBQ. Beds have been replaced and new mattresses and duvets purchased, as well as new washing machines and ovens in both houses. The seating in the Quinta has been replaced. There are now two triple sofas and a new dining table with six comfortable chairs. The passages from the terrace next to the Quinta to the parking lot and to the swimming pool can now be closed by means of a gate with a lock. Of course you should always keep an eye on your children, but it is nice that the terrace can be closed completely. You will be personally welcomed by our manager who will give the necessary explanations, his wife will take care of the cleaning.
