Discover Panama from your holiday home!

Panama is the southernmost country in Central America and is mainly known for the Panama Canal, which links the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and separates North and South America. In the north, the country has a border with Costa Rica and in the south, Panama borders Colombia. Panama’s coastal areas are flat, in stark contrast to the mountainous inland regions. The highest point in Panama is the Chiriqui Volcano and its largest city is also its capital, Panama City.

Climate in Panama

Panama has a tropical climate, which means that the country is hot and humid. It is still warm during the winter, although more rain falls during this time of year. The rain showers in Panama during the winter are tropical bursts of rain that tend to last only one hour. Unlike winter, the summer is very dry. Temperature-wise, it does not make much difference whether you visit Panama in summer or in winter. Since the country is close to the Equator, it’s always warm. But for those who like to cool down from time to time, we can recommend a winter visit. The occasional rain shower will provide you with the necessary cool blast. Are you planning to visit in summer after all? You’ll find the shade you need in the forests around your holiday rental, or you can take a plunge in the river.

Time Difference with Panama

During our summer-time, Panama is 6 hours behind the UK. During the winter, Panama is 5 hours behind.
