Hidden in the green polders of Zuid-Beveland lies the village of Baarland. It is a small village but a popular holiday destination. The large Camping Scheldeoord on the outskirts of the village attracts many people to the region every year.
Just across the dike is the beach Baarland. In summer, this beach is also popular with locals. You look out over the entire Western Scheldt from your towel. At Brasserie de Landing, you can enjoy a meal with the same view. Baarland has a small station, which used to be on the tram line Goes - Hoedenkenskerke. Nowadays, the steam train Goes Borsele still uses it. With the steam train you can take a day trip between Goes and Hoedekenskerke in a historic train. The museum train stops in various villages along the route.
