The Utrecht Ridge, which originated 150,000 years ago, is the second largest forest area in the Netherlands after the Veluwe. It is an area where you can relax during a walk in the woods. In the municipality of Zeist there are also dozens of National and War monuments and thousands of municipal monuments. These can be discovered by bicycle, but certainly also by public transport. From the apartment, the Driebergen-Zeist station is easiest to reach with just 7 minutes by bike. This is also a station that is connected to many intercity trains / stations. For example, from this station you can reach Utrecht Central by train in 10 minutes. There is also the Heideweg bus stop at 500 meters (at the end of the street) that can take you to Utrecht center and the Uithof by bus 50 in 30 minutes. In Zeist you can also view the special Slot Zeist with beautiful English gardens where you can walk through or you can also take a look at the deer from the Hertenkamp at the Boswerf, both locations are 10 minutes by bike from the apartment. Not in the mood for activities? Then you can also enjoy Sauna Soesterberg. There are also several supermarkets in Zeist, but the closest to the apartment is Albert Heijn (1.8 km). You can do your shopping there with 5 to 10 minutes by bike. On the Slotlaan in Zeist, where the shops are located, you can reach the same number of cycling minutes. Here are also all kinds of eateries where you can dine. For breakfast you can also cycle 20 minutes past Bunnik to the bakery / restaurant Vroeg where the wonderful scent of, among other things, the fresh artisan bread will meet you on your bike. You could then immediately discover the beautiful forest area Amelisweerd. In short, there is plenty to discover in Zeist and the walking and cycling routes already start at the front door. The apartment offers tranquility, so you can look up the crowds in the center of Zeist, but also in surrounding areas, such as Soest, Bunnik, Utrecht, Woudenberg, de Bilt and Amersfoort. You can think of visiting the Military Museum or Amersfoort Zoo.
